Default novamax motors?

Hi
I haven't seen much on these engines> Does anybody own one or know anything about them. I'm looking at motors for a serpent 710 or a mtx 3. I'm just curious if these motors are really as fast as they say. I've also looked at the novamega's as well.
Would you get the 3 port or 5 port? Cna you tell the difference in power I know some places won't let you race the 5 ports
Thanks
Jon

Default Novamax

Hi,

I'd tried the 5port 12size novamax (ns12-based) on my mtx3 few mths ago for 2 sessions till the car ran straight into the kerb at the end of the long straight and broke the max into 2 pieces.... mech switch problem and power cut off.... just my luck!

This engine has smooth transition from low to high end, powerful but not wild low end pick up and very fast on top speed.

Idling is good but hard to start again after running a tank at race condition. Most nova carbs are like that ,same goes for the nova s3, s5 carbs.... doesnt like to be heated up.

definitely more power than a nova stock engine, 3 or 5 port depends on race/track regulations.

In singapore here, no rules on ports and modded engines so 5 ports modded ones are easily seen at races.

Just my 2 cents worth.....

Smile Novamax

Hi, I have a 3 port novamax and it is one of the most powerful engines i have raced so far ,nice progressive throttle response ,The porting work inside is also very neat .

also holds a tune ( not like some of the Fx's i have seen lately )

What else can i say it is a awsome engine for the price ($250 aus dollars cheaper than Jp Fx)

cheers

Default NOVAMAX

Run max's in my 1/8 and are great motor. Have both 3 & 5 port .12s the five port is ballistic the three port has an IFMAR EFRA legal crank and is not as good.By legal I mean no turbo scoop no blend work at crank port exit. Still a good engine.

Nova MAX (Orange head is their signature, just like BLACK casing is the signature of JP mod engines)..........are very popular at EAST area (and Europe of course), Racer from Hong Kong are widely use those Nova MAX 12 engine, and they are PAR (and may be faster) then others like JP mod and Rody mod....

However, they are very much like $350-$425 per pop engine....no pocket change, but according from those used them before, engine is INSANELY FAST.........and make sure your local track does have 250'-0" plus long enough to have the engine to performance, otherwise, you cannot tell those extra power from 30,000-42,500 rpm....

Nova Mega is NOT modified engine, the Michael Salven version is just a little mod on the piston ring...not really considered MOD ENGINE like Max, Jp or Rody....

You can buy those Nova Max engine at www.rcmodel.com.hk

I still have mine in the box with the MAX inline pipe. Tempted to use several times, but for now, I'm enjoying the thrill my RB Rody has to offer.
