Default HK KART

I purchased the HK Go-Kart and have a few questions about your build, I am trying to mount a 4 stroker on Kart. I take it you have the machining capabilities to modify the rear plate to mount the motor, if not what did you use. I mounted the foam tires works like a charm, love them. My question is how did you setup the brakes. I ordered the Himoto brake set and the brake hub. The CEN parts and how to mount them on the Kart, and if any what other parts needed for the mod. Thanks

hi mate ..... glad to see another project in the build feel free to bang up pics in this thread of how u are going ..

to mount the bump start sirio .12 engine , yes i did machine the mount plate . im a machinst by trade and my dad has a lil bridgeport that i jumped on to an put 2 slots in it , just to try and get the engine as low as i could to bump start it . turns out to this day i have not driven it with this engine . basicly it was such a head F#%* to bump it cos the fly wheel does not hang low enuff plus, its so awkward sitting on the starter box , it just did my head-in and i just put it on the shelf and left it lol .... my advice is just use a pull-or roto engine ..but any ways if u can get it to work i cant wait to see it .. if i was to do it again and had sum spare CA$H i would buy a RB.12 jr roto-RACE ENGINE and be done with it ...

any ways about the brakes .. basicly i got the cen brake kit , think it was from the 1/8 buggy or trugg , mounted it with the axle running through it which is very easy then i got a himoto brake hub/carrier and if i remember right it had to smaller dia hole for the axle to pass through it , so because its a harden steel hub i used a die-grinder just to open up the hole a little to slip it over the axle. i also ground a lil flat on the axle for the grub screw to tighten up onto . then i used two fiber glass brake disks made by himoto . il take sum better pics of it close up if u would like . the disks are the right dia for the cen brake kit. then i mounted a 2nd servo and used a (Y) joiner for the throttle servo and the brake servo that u can buy off ebay .

Yes thank you for the info, I would like to see some closeup shots of the brake setup. I also will post some pics once I get things sorted out and start putting this thing together.

I dont know about traxxas nitros, but I do know that their 1/10 cars run 48p gears. The trucks that are called 1/8 or 1/10 (summit, revo maybe emaxx) from them might run 48p or 32p, idk.

I meant trucks when I said cars.

Looked it up, you are right about their bigger cars. But most of their 1/10 electrics use 48p. Guess I learn something new every day.

Thanks for the pics, I have parts on order for the brakes and will work on them once I get everything. I'm going to have to get someone to machine the rear plate for me. I have several different motor's I could put on it but for now I'm going with the Novarrossi 12 with a rotor start on it. I have an Os Fs26 car version motor I wanted to go with, but it would take alot to get that to work. I will post some pics once I have something worthy to display.
