those wears seem to be cause by header spring. I have teethed mark around my fins on all my engine.

is the carb black/smoked too?

It does look like a regular JP sleeve. On the JP site, they are advertising a "new" style sleeve that is the same as the one in your first picture. You probably got yours before they made the change.

the spring doesn't go around the cyl....it fits under the bottom fin, parallel to the middle of the exhaust port.....there's no way those marks were caused by a spring, even by some remote chance he put it there......(and if he did,I wouldn't admit it..'cause the broken piston theory would go out the window)

BTW,that is some crappy looking engine coating...is that supposed to show high performance?...

If he's using 2 springs then the second spring could have made those marks.

As what rod_b stated, it looks like an older sleeve from a previous JP ( purple head ) motor. The JP box is the new design. You should've gotten the new sleeve. Someone switched it before you bought it. Anyways, Swauger works on my motors and he can determine if its been switched, used, overheated, etc....... I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Maybe good, maybe bad. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I have a friend that has a JP just like yours. I think what rod_b said is right. The NSR motors from Novarossi are like this too. Novarossi came out with just the regular NS sleeve then switched over to the new "fanged" port sleeve.

You did run the motor right? Those marks must be from normal use.

back to the topic, that dot right beneath the intake port does remind me of the MS modified on my old Nova Mega.

All this talk inspired me to open my FX-T-03. Especially since I bought it out of Florida. I guess I got lucky, as I did get a modded one. After all of this, I haven't even run it and I am probably going to sell it.

Hey guys; I've been without power since friday at 8:30 or 9.

Those marks on the side of the case are from the springs.. I broke it in and then took it to the track for a test and tune with some buddies so I could put it away and save it for the nationals in toledo. I have never bought a jp before this one and thought it was a little weak from the get go. Maybe my expectation of the hype was set kind of high but my buddies that do have them are zipping by me in my first time out...

The crank is really cool and the case is coated inside and out with the JP special black coating. I only want from Jp the sleeve that was supposed to come with the FX12 t03. If they swapout the sleeve I will be fine.

Default Mugen racing warning

I had a run in with Mugen Racing out of Calif and they screwed me bad. It was a year ago and I'm still boiling over what they did. and to make things worse they came in here lied like crazy to save face. My advice is to closely inspect the crank they send you the one they sent me I use every day...as a paper weight
