The 5 port is not race-legal, but I would think it would be more powerful than the 3 port.
The 3 is more than you need already!!
Do you prefer the Devil at your side, or the Devil with a Bazooka at hand?
And for the previous question, I would say the Capricorn is the best on the market today, but maybe the new R4 could be better, but I have no idea - only that the Cap is the best for now.

Yes, pretty much.

I think the car would also be an improvement for a novice/club driver because the front end feels so predictable and communicates very well. You instantly know what the car is doing when you turn the wheel.

In term of engines, if you go with a tuned nova based engine you will be good.

-Capricorn LAB E01 BC
-RB T10RC
-Novarossi Flash or 353 (depends on the track)

If you have any more questions or want info about the Capricorn car you can also send me an pm.

Nope, you are going to get tired of breaking composite differential gears, CVDs and Kevlar pulleys (if you use em)...

The NT1 wear rate is way much lower than any other car on the market (except maybe the MTX4)...

The WC or 2010 version has everything you possibly would need in a car.

Only upgrade I have seen as "essential" are aftermarket pulleys on the sidebelt, but that is due to a very dirty track I race on.

I have held the KM in my hands, and even though it is a well thought design... Once you have built a Xray kit, you are never going to look back anywhere else... Everything has a perfect fit...

its only the greatest car if you can set it up, or have the back up from people who can! this is questions asked on a weekly basis, truth is all the top brands are capable of winning in the rite hands, and most will have the odd flaw to them.
you pays ya money n takes ya chance

oh yes back the question the shepherd v10 is easily the best car available

I asked this question a few weeks ago about an 8th car. I really do think that any of the top brands could win a race if in the right hands, hell, I bet Lamberto Collari could win this years worlds with a three year old Serpent 960-08 like mine!

I have owned a Serpent ever since my Dad bought me my first Impact all those years ago, which incidently are still grazing the loft! I am familiar with the brand and I have many spares, not to mention them being easy to obtain and are far cheaper than Xray.

I think the most important thing when buying an RC car from the brands mentioned above is the parts availability and support. Serpent for me win this hands down. I would love to own the new Montonica P81rs but really only due to the exclusivity and look because the parts back up sucks, or at least it does for now.

If all the brands are easily available to you then I would go with your instinct as i'm sure you wil hear equal amounts of good and bad things about all of the cars you question.

Sorry to jump in with another question but I am looking to buy a nitro too and the advice here is really helpful. I am wondering how the capricorn compares to the velox v10. Are they the same class or totally different? In terms of suspension and other general adjustments which one is more versatile?
For some time now I have been wanting a velox v10 but the capricorn c01 looks very sexy too.
i can't find it anywhere in the UK though

You can not say that the Cap is the best car. But you can say it is the most expensive.

Pass you soon...

it seems i can buy it straight from their site and i am guessing it will ship from italy. currency is euros on the site so it must be coming from italy.
It's not so much about the best. I am interested in the widest range of adjustment for the chassis and suspension geometry. More of a technical exercise than a race project.

I agree with jas1... Almost all cars have the same amount of adjustments...

I don't know if the Capricorn has adjustable wheelbase like the Xray NT1 2010 does. Or if the Shepherd has it...
