Talking clutch question

Have another question, this time regarding the clutch bell setup for the XR8 (centax style). There seems to be a washer/spacer that goes in between the two bearings inside the bell (shoe side). The manual doesn't specify what type of washer/spacer this is. Could it be the brass spacer that's included in the washers bag, it's about 2mm thick. Again thanks for the help.

there are 3 bearings all together, 2 smaller than the last one.

The biggest bearing sits nearest to the clutch, followed by the brass shim you mentioned then shim the other 2 bearings accordingly. Hope that helps.

Default i'm new here, and i have no ideea of what i have :D

Lots of help for a begginer, please..... I have aquired a power racing ..... one of my problems is i do not know which one is it.....beside the allready built vehicle, i received another kit without the electronics, engine, and wheels. First of all, i'd like to ask if anyone can send me the instruction manual, because i did'nt get any.....also where can i buy a body for it (i'd like one that would resemble a touring car, beeing from Romania, i'm not specialised in races yet, it's kinda tough) ......
The tank i installed, or the engine throttle if i'm being corect (excuse my english) are the bigest problems for me, because when i pushed the throttle to the max it hit my tank, and i had to cut off half of one's tank "ear"....
In the photos i'll (try) place, please tell me:
is it the xr8 or the xr80???
is this the stock engine or is it bigger(mine is any good, it is brand new)???
how can i set the angles "straight"
Thanks for your help or critics, hope i did'nt disturb anyone, and because i'm a noob excuse the way i talk......i play more with my savage, but i wanted some speed beside toughness....
With respect Mircea from Romania

Default XR-8

You have the XR-80 the RTR version.
They did come out with a couple of different engines for the RTR, but it looks like it is one of the original engines.
You can upgrade the XR-80 to the XR-8 with a few upgrades, and it really helps the car handle a lot better.
I believe I have an XR-80 manual at home, and I will check when I get in tonight.
I sent you me e-mail address in a P/M, so if you would like, I can help you with what you would need to upgrade the car to the XR-8.
If I dont have an extra manual, I know I have an extra XR-8 manual, or I can make you a copy of one of the ones I have. Overall, the cars go together pretty much the same other than the upgrades.

Diesel Power

You will have to loosen the carb pinch bolt on the engine and rotate the carb 5-10 degrees clockwise while looking down on the engine. This will allow the carb slide to extend past the edge of the fuel tank. You may also have to adjust the ball-link position on the slide to clear the carry handle.

Hope this helps..

Thank you, it did and iti did'nt help.....the carb was exactly the way you told me to place it, but the servo did'nt pull it very well (i did'nt like how it was done) and so i placed it like in the photos, i decided to cut half a ear from the tank, and now the carb slides all the way....but at the end it hits a little the tank.....
It's still cold out side and i cant wait to make the engine run, i'm waiting for warmer weather .... i cant wait to see it at work on a track

Default XR-8

What you also can do is loosen the pinch bolt, rotate the carb as much as you can <still get access to the idle screw>,rotate the ball cap on the carb around, and if you have to, slightly bend the carb linkage to go around the corner of the tank. The screw in the radio plate next to the roll bar, might need to be changed out a smaller head, or just slightly grind the head off the screw in place now. You would be wise to also install a carb return spring.

Default XR-8

The main items you need to change the XR-80 over to the XR-8

Carbon fiber radio plate
Front and rear shock towers
Upgraded chassis
Engine mounts <1 piece>
There are other items that you would want to change if you really want to race the car, but these are the main items. With the one piece engine mount, you would need a starter box.

I use these items plus Kyosho Evolva fuel tank
Mugen front springs <white>
Mugen rear springs <pink>
Mugen clutch and clutch bell with bearings
Rex 321P tuned engine
Conical header
9886 pipe
Airtronics servos <958, 731>
Upgraded battery pack <I had it built>
70 weight oil front shocks
60 weight oil rear shocks
front camber 3
front toe out .5 each side
caster clips to the rear
rear camber 3 to 4
rear toe in 2 to 3
ride height front 4.5
ride height rear 5.5
Kyosho "Dome" body
rear tires 72 mm 45 shore
front tires 65 mm 45 shore
This should set you up pretty close. You might need to change the set-up and tires depending on where you will be racing your car.
This set-up is for a very high traction track.
