Wich "bits" are teflon? I'd like to upgrade my beasty, though I'm happy with the way it performs, I wanna have every advantage when I go up against the new 8th scale guys that come out to the track...

The upgrade parts referred too are not teflon. They are machined from MC nylon, which is essentially delrin. The stock parts are equal to the parts from the other manufacturers. Stock clutch bell is aluminum & very trick. It does run a bit out of true after a while. I switched to the steel one offered by PRP, for durabillity reasons.

my bad , MC Nylon indeed. I got the teflon stuck to my head due to work done on those material

took the xr8 out yesterday had some fun untill the rear carbon shock tower broke after being rear ended by fellow racer

Went to the LHS and got two of the same thing and CA them together. The aluminium shock tower is a little different in design, it's shock mouting holes are lower than the carbons.

Taking off the zip tie used to open the fuel lid. When the car turn turtle and is sliding the tarmac grabs the zip tie and opens the lid a little. if the O ring in the lid is set too tight the lid might not close after it is accidently open and looses fuel tank compression.

is this a product with the best from serpent and mugen and put it to one car?

It does look like both and performs great, but the only thing is they should have built it with teflon parts to make it stronger and then sell another version at the price of the other 8th onroad cars. Maybe call it the XR8-R Pro .

It's possible...but maybe if they had more of them at the big events and in the top 3 or something then maybe they might.

devious,
One thing you might consider is changing the tank. I use a Kyosho tank on mine for 2 reasons; first, the stock tank is under-sized. Second, the Kyosho tank-lid has the cap lid angled up a bit, making it easier to get your thumb under. easier re-fuel.. A small amount of grinding is required on the upper deck to accommodate the new tank.

All of the XR/8 kits we have shipped out since late last year have a larger, 120cc tank. You can tell if you have the larger tank by the aluminum mounts either being 6mm longer than normal, or if the mounts came with spacers to move the tank up.

The Serpent tank also fits very well, with just a little bit of dremeling to the upper deck.

Thanks Duneland, will keep the evolva's tank in mind. I just aquired the XR8 and would like to have a feel of the cars charactor before I make any changes to it.

How much ride height are you guys running? I have also been runing slam dunk 1/10 on our tracks and the 1/8 looked like they are 4WD on Lola shells

Has anyone tried replacing the disc brake of the XR8? I thought I could use the Kfactory disc from my MTX3 but it seems the Kfactory bit is 2mm bigger than the stock single disc of the XR8.

I know the evolva's disc are compatible with the 1/10 disc.

Power Racing has an upgraded one-piece disc brake, part #X82018. I still like the stock brake disc(s) the most, though. It's lightweight and effective, kind of hard to beat.

Default Clutch Adjustment

Due to a hectic work schedule, this is the first weekend I can fire her up. I went through and cleaned appropriately, but the clutch is engaging a lot quicker than it should be. Also, I can't engage the second gear. I need a little assistance. I know Duneland is one of the closest hobby shops to me, any closer. I would have to make a day trip out of it if I go out there. Thanks in advance.
