What's interesting is once I finally got her to come out to the track, she loved it! She was so excited to see me and her Step-Dad kicking ass on the track(We both won our classes). She was like a cheer leader, gasping or giggling as we passed or made a mistake... We both realy enjoyed the whole thing, and I'm hoping she'll remember the good time she had and come back out for more...or the mall accross the parking lot

Ok I just aquired one of these beasties. I have been going through it and I can see a few things that need changing right away.

Fistly the rear shock tower is held on by 2 tiny screws and is less sturdy than my RRR. Is there an upgrade to the kit one?

Next the rear upper swing arm pivots are not held in by anything. Have I missed something?

The rear roll bar is not much use but I see there is an upgrade. I havent had it on the track yet but I can see that if i want to get thids car competative it will cost me more than a new MRX4. I'll use it as is until i can afford one!

Cheers

The rear shock tower is held on the same way as every other 1/8 I have seen (I have had several others previously). The upper rear arm is held in place by a set screw. The rear anti-roll bar is very effective, but I switched to the adjustable one. Many of the team drivers are not using a rear bar. I like it much better with the rear bar however. The chassis, overall, is more adjustable than most.

Ill be glad when this page is full as that huge pic posted by some idiot is makeing the screen scoll way yo the right!!

Anyway..

I cant find the place where the setscrew holds in the rear pivot pins. I havent had a 1/8th before only 1/10th and I know what can happen to them and I assume that 1/8th is worse

The shocks seem really stiff compared to the 1/10th and pack off really badly. I wouldnt have thought they worked at all. I have changed the pistons to larger holes so they work better.

Cheers

Yes, that wide screen thing is getting old. I will look at my car when I get home. I think the set-screw is in the bulkhead, but don't remember. I know I never lost the pin & I put a fair amount of track time on the car. The shocks feel good with 50wt. & 2 hole pistons all around. I prefer the yellow springs (a bit stiffer than the stock grey ones). Run the short wheelbase option (front lower arms all the way back--requires shimming of the sway-bar mounts) for more steering. More later...
