In most cases when a driver is paid by the company. Driving is just one of the many duties the driver may have to do. Mike worked in tech support for MugenUSA. Mike will probably have to cover some management duties for Xray on the west coast. So Mike is an employee of Xray not just a sponsored driver.

Who want's to get cought up in all the drama??? Just go out there and enjoy watching these Elite drivers do their craft. Remember, the elite drivers will go fast with anything they touch. Not to mention some of the drama is not for public consumption and is better left that way!!!

I'm sure that everyone wants to go faster. If Mike or Ralph go any faster at Ft Myers we just might all be deaf from the sonic boom!!

Both drivers have been flirting with the 10 second lap, Ralph and Mike both have recorded a 10.9 once at Ft Myers, If I remember correctly.

This year we have the smoothest pavement ever, the best mixture of traction additive that we southern engineers could muster, and two of the most successful Ft Myers drivers on the planet coming down with a new, fresh out of the box, 1/8th scale car.

Anyone interested to see what the outcome is ? I know I am !!!

We have leaders & followers in this world, which one are you? People like Mike S. Are leaders in since that he drives great so for that he gets great deal. Other that made or might make the switch end up with same deal or no deal they just follow because that's who they are on this world.

For the leaders 95% of the time it's about the deal, it really has nothing to do with the car. Well you know what the others do. (follow the leader)

I think a better question would be, who will Mugen USA get to replace him? Looks like all the big names are locked into contracts now so they may have to take their time.

I can promise you it had nothing to do with money. Xray copy the MTX4, what have you been smoking its nothing like a MTX4. The RX8 is a car of its own just like the NT1.

So you guys don't think Mike will be faster with an Xray? I guess we will all have to wait and see.

I am pretty sure that Mike's reasons to changing to Xray are personal and have nothing to do with more money.

I also have no doubt that when he gets the ground on the new cars, he will be much more faster than before.

NT1 a copy of MTX4?? Don't think so... I have had both cars and they are nothing alike... For the untrained eye, yes, they might seem "similar". But, aren't all current cars similar??

Robert Pietsch might go fast on quals, but on the long race his luck seems to run out...
