Default Serpent 966 kit never run, with controler and servos. What is it worth?

Saw this on ebay yesterday and was wondering what I should bid for it? It looks nice but what have you guys been seeing kits go for on Ebay? I have an M11X so I wouldn't need the controler but the servos are still nice. Maybe its better to buy it and then part out the stuff I don't need?

I was looking at getting into 1/8 on-road and was looking for a built setup. I also noticed there was a setup board for sale as well, is this a fair price for it? I don't know alot about 1/8th on road but from what I have read a setup board is pretty much a have to have item.

Any advice would be appreciated.

There are true 966 cars for sale on many of the forums.<non converted from 960> With the market the way it is, and even with the radio and starter box, I would be suprised if he gets much over $400.00 for the complete set up. Great cars, dont get me wrong<I have a 966 now> but the market for used on-road cars is way down. The Hudy board is way over priced. I see the Hudy All in Ones going for around $200.00 sometimes. I also have one of those, and they are the best, but prices are way down. The car looks good, but I just dont see much over $400.00.

With all the add on parts, radio and servos, looks like a pretty decent deal up to the buy it now price. Buying a good used ( or unused in this case) car to test the 1/8 scale waters is always a pretty good idea IMO.

As others have pointed ou, the economy is in shambles. With that being said, the sale price will depend on how many people are interested. I'd say it will end up anywhere between $400-$480tops since it is claimed to be new.

Ok guys thanks a ton, I'll wait a little and try dropping $300 or so on it if it bids up and see what happens. I'll just wait and see with the board, maybe start a $100 offer and see what happens there too.

There is a buy it now price of $699.97 and there is also a reserve price, so obviously the guy wants $699.97, bidding below the reserve price will be a waste of time.

If you are Really interested in a Serpent, contact Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies<he posted on this thread> and speak to Sam. He can hook you up with everything you need. Sam is the man when it comes to Serpents. He "may" even be able to hook you up with a nice used one. When you buy something from Kamikaze, you know you are getting the best.

As said there are deals out there to be had that is much much better. I know because I picked up on some of them. Look around. Have some patience and the right deal may find your way.

Keep in mind that if you find a good roller, you'll still need to get a good motor for it. 1/8th motors will run you upwards from $350 for a good motor. Be careful of "used" motors from owners claiming to have only ran 5 or so tanks or "less than a gallon" as those claims are often never true.

Yeah thats why having a well built kit is important. I messaged this guy and he said the reserve is $550, so if I get it for that and then sell the controler for $150, then pay $350 for a good motor, I'll only be in it for $750 which is not too bad for having mostly brand new stuff.

Btw it looks like it will now sell to highest bidder, depending on any other deals I can find, this one might not be too bad if I can nab it for under $600.
