Default 1/8 Scale Nationals

Thought I should start a thread for the Nationals, hopefully some of the guys there can let us guys that couldn't make it know what is going on. My son is there so I will report what he has to say.

Yep, minus Josh. Bobby has a new "Pops" for the week, Josh's Dad.

I guess Josh is going Thursday, hopefully he will be feeling better.

That will be great!

Bobby called a while ago, he said the track is huge, the car looks like it is barely moving down the straight but when they come past the drivers stand sure enough they are fast! Lots of wide open throttle sections.

Sounds like low 20's and high 19's are fast so far. He thinks there are probably near 100 cars there today, always 4 to 6 cars on the track.

More news tomorrow.

Ted, let me know how it goes. Did Bobby get the tires on the new Mugen/ Kyosho rims? They went to Ralph and he was to give Bobby and Josh some when they arrived.

Ted, the photos Bobby asked me to take are now posted. You can now find them at http://www.rc-racing.com/2004/july/ along with everything else on the Great Lakes Challenge.

Let's see if I can post one of them here.....

....and one of Bobby and car...

As to the race, I've only been able to find out how some of the Serpent drivers are doing. Tim Long said he'd pass all the general information on to me, but I haven't heard from him yet.

Hmm.. Mike, those photos aren't from the nationals.

Anyhow, all info is at www.rams-rc.com.

Ralph Burch, Darin Ishitani, and Josh Cyrul were blazingly fast today during qualifers 4 and 5. Last I checked, Darin was qualifying 1st and Ralph was in 2nd.

As of round 5, Ralph had the fastest qualifying time of 15 laps in 5:03 and the scary part was that was with a pit stop during his 5min qualifier. In fact, he's been pitting for a splash of fuel in every single one of his qualifiers.

Ralph's clearly the fastest.

All I have been able to find out is that Ralph is TQ, Josh is 10th, and Bobby had various things go wrong (blown glow plugs, other engine problems, 5 grams too light) and has a whole lot of bumping up to do to make the "A".
