My issues was having to pit or we could have competed for the TQ. If I missed anything on the set up or it is confusing just ask.

What I did that is not on the sheet.

-ran the front with flex radio tray.
-ran the rear with flex as well
-ran the front upper arms with no shims under
-I used the new bar in the front with the stiffer one (I think it is 1.4)

Thanks,

DJ Apolaro
DJ, the new front bar offers
1.2
1.3
1.4
1.5
1.6

The stiffest 1.6 due to the Dia of the rod seems on par with the softest 1.3 old bar

Do you think the same also or not? interested to hear your thoughts on the new front bar setup.

I feel like 1.6 is a little stiffer than the old 1.3. With the 1.6 my car felt better from left to right with the reaction. I did not feel like I lost much of anything in the middle though. Maybe just a hair in the middle, but the reaction gain was very noticeable.

I like the newer system just because it is easier to adjust.

I try not to adjustment my ride height. If the car starts to get to low, I change the tires. If you do adjustment the ride height, then you have to adjust the droop since that will change. If you tighten the shocks down to get back ride height the car will have less roll and be more flat, since you take away travel in the chassis. I start with the 74/67.5 for the warm up and go with that. Then just put new tires for the next race.

I think the left rear would get down to about 70 or 71 and it was fine. No lowerbthan that though.

When I say matching I mean 74/67.5, 75/68.5 ect ect

For me if i dont have any old tires to practice on say 71,or 72 or 73 rear sizes with matching fronts. I will cut a new set to 75 with matching fronts

For qualifying I like them 75-73 range and matching fronts

Never adjusting ride height I will try to set the car for the main and just leave it

My tire rotation for club races normaly works like so

starting with no used sets
New set for practice and round 1
New set for round 2 and 3
New set for main
Following week
used set for practice from week before from main, or from rounds 1 or rounds 2/3
Sometimes I can run round 1 on a used set from the week before
round 2/3 and main new set

This gets me to 2 sets per club raceafter the first weekend.
I normally care less about round 1 at a club race because the track will be far better in 2and 3.

At toledo I can run my tires down to 68 rears if I have to.

A normal 2 day race.
Used for practice
new for round 1, then 2
new for round 3
used for round 4
main 30mins if wear is low cut new to 74 if its high 76
32 fronts/35 rears

Hope that info helps

Finished my custom receiver box:

Need to make some small changes to the design (too thin in some spots) but the overall fit and finish is very nice. The 471 receiver from Sanwa fits perfectly.

Now that I know the minium wall thickness and design features of the material I will start with the design of the universal receiver box for the standard Capricorn cars.

Hi Andy,

Some of my customers and drivers have experienced the same problem. This weekend (6-7 of April) I made a brand new reverse clutch for my C801 and tested it. Didn't have the slightest dust from the yellow clutch shoe. But what I do the first runs is to have no tension on the spring, to run in the clutch shoe first. The first run I use 2-4 tanks.

After that I gradually tighten the clutch spring in 0.2mm and normally I end up around 0.8mm - 1.00mm with the spring in the set. Depending on the traction that day. Because at the moment the season is just begun here in Sweden/Denmark and the traction changes a lot with the temperature changes. Saturday we had sunny wheather with 8-9 degrees celciuos in the shade and ok grip. But Sunday sunny with changing wheather and 5-7 degrees celciuos and no grip.

When I get time I can give you the rest of my measurements on the clutch if you like, just send me a mail.

Thanks,

Niko
