Exclamation help i hope i did good

hey whats , i just used craigslist and bought acouple nitro rc cars they are traxxis 4 tech and a thunder tiger ts-n ? the cars arent new by any means but hopefully i can get into the hobby cheap , i paid 200 for both cars , one controller and a bbunch of spare parts a bump box and acouple extra bodys the guy who sold to me said the thunder ran but the traxxis needs a piston and sleeve , dunno maybe itll be ok but im starting to get anxious about wether or not im be able to get these goin also can i take a on road car and turn it into an off road buggy or something ? how much do u guys think ill have to fork over to get both cars runnin right ? any opinions and suggestion are extremely welcomed thank u
