Hey buddy!I've seen Bertin and Shimo use a very look alike rear tower at the 2010 WC maybe it was the same.

Okay guys tried to speak to shimo day of big race but he said not today, So i spoke with him today during practice.

Do you have any problems with diff in the r-4?

He said some have but not him, He said you must fill diff case full to top and suggested a stiffer silicon 70,000 or 80,000.

do you have any fuel tank issues,

He said that he had none and look surprized. so no one he knows has had no issues with tank.

fyi he runs his shocks with no rebound at all.

If you want see Shimo's practice body run Ft. Myers come see me at the fort may 13 and 14

I bought the R4 shock tower to try it on my RRR Shimo, but the holes didnt fit.

So i used some steel epoxy to fill the holes in R4 ST, then i drilled out new holes that fitted the RRR.

I used the RRR ST as a template when i drilled out the holes in the R4 ST.

It worked out great, som im using the R4 ST on my RRR Shimo now.

Hi guys, just building my r4 kit now in Australia, just wondering is the 2nd spur gear supposed to wobble and move around on the 2nd shoe set,on the rrr it never moved around this much,is this normal for this car and should be left the way it is?Or have I done something wrong? Cheers in advance.

Default 2nd shoe

Nothing wrong. You have to put a 1,5 mm shim around one-way bearing.

That is normal as the 2nd gear is only running on 1 bearing now. I have run my car for 3 days now with no issues so far.... touch wood.

Where in Oz are you?

Actually guys just another heads up. I had engine dramas in the final at the serpent cup.

What it ended up being was that the clutch spring nut came totally loose and this made the clutch go soft and caused the engine to overheat and drop the plug.... Engine ruined.

When I checked the nut it was extremely loose and the orange thread lock did not go all the way to the end of the thread.

It is the first time I have ever had this issue with a Kyosho clutch and I have been running them for the last 6 years or so.

I will be checking this against some of my old clutches and replacing if the parts are the same. I think they are.

If you have other flywheel nuts try pre applying thread lock to them and let them dry and they will be ready when use them. sometimes when your clutch is set to loose it will back out, using harder spring will help
