Thanks for the feed back. I'll have to check out an R15. How much gap did you use from the front bumper to the edge of the body?

Also this series of questions is for everyone out there. We are new to the car and would appreciate any input we can get.

Can you please explain what the following adjustment do to the car?

1. Raising or lowering the front upper roll center?

2. Using the eccentric in the front hubs in the three positions
a) upper
b) middle
c) lower

3. Using a shim in the front knuckle where the steering tie rods connect?

4. Moving the ackerman forward or backwards?

5. Increasing or decreasing the angle on the front sway bar.

I thank you in advance for any input we can get.

FRONT ROLL CENTER

Front roll center has most effect on on-throttle steering during mid-corner and corner exit.

FRONT ROLL CENTER EFFECT

Lower
• Increases on-throttle steering.
• Decreases car’s responsiveness.
• Decreases weight transfer at front of car, but increases grip.
• Increases chassis roll.
• Better on smooth, high-traction tracks with long fast corners.

Higher
• Decreases on-throttle steering.
• Increases car’s responsiveness.
• Increases weight transfer at front of car, but decreases grip.
• Decreases chassis roll.
• Use in high-grip conditions to avoid traction rolling.
• Better on tracks with quick direction changes (chicanes).

FRONT ANTI-ROLL BAR
The front anti-roll bar affects mainly off-power steering at corner entry.

Stiffer
• Decreases chassis roll.
• Decreases front grip (increases rear grip).
• Increases off-power steering at corner entry.
• Quicker steering response.

Softer
• Increases chassis roll.
• Increases front grip (decreases rear grip).
• Decreases off-power steering at corner entry.
• Slower steering response.

Adjustments on the Front Hubs

Reduce the track width
More Steering > Move up the wheel shaft using the eccentric (pay attention
to the Down-Stop)
More Steering 1st half of curve > Move forward the wheel shaft using the
eccentric
More Steering 2nd half of curve > Move backward the wheel shaft using the
eccentric

The shim on the steering arm under the tie-rod changes the bump steer.

Ackerman adjustment, I notice the further forward you push the servo saver the more aggressive the car is in the middle of the corner and makes the car more twitchy.

Default Bad part?

Hello everyone. I recently purchased the low friction front belt for my v8 and the belt is to short. I tried every adjustment short of drilling new holes to accommodate this belt. Has anyone else had this problem.( part #906107)

There are two different size front belts, a 201 and 210 mm. If you have not updated the pulleys to the new version, you need the 201mm belt. If you have updated, you need the 210mm belt. sounds like maybe you have the new pulleys but got the 201mm belt.

Thanks for the info. I have the new pulleys that came with the '11 kit. I thought that the low friction belt was a new option. I have not seen two different size "low friction belts" even though the regular belt (606117) says 210 mm. Thanks again.

I added the front wire bar this weekend. Gives the car just what I was looking for . Plenty of steering.

Helpful tips: make your links 30mm in total length.
if you desided to run your upper arm pins in the lowest setting, remove the bottom set screws. or the up travel will hit the wire bar.

Did it give you more initial , mid or exit steering. We ran the stock front sway bar this weekend and were looking for more initial. Also what body did you use?

I run the Blitz R15 ( dome ) body. Mounted dead center of the front wheel cut out scribe marks
