easy mugen makes one that a lot of guys running other mfg's cars use. B0220 Pro Starter RII (For On-Road Racing). I run the previous version and it works 100% of the time. I have my 4s lipo double side taped to the bottom.

Sams the man. I have purchased all of my starter boxes from Sam <Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies, Cerritos Ca>
I used the Mugen 1/8th scale box, and also have the lightweight Ofna 1/8th scale box, and both work great. Think I like the Ofna one better though as it is much lighter, and almost 1/2 the price

"B0220 Pro Starter RII (For On-Road Racing)" the best box for the MRX4-X and I also use it on the 1/10 scale MTX4-R

yup, I have used that starter box for like 6 years? once I had to bend the contacts and clean them, ended up putting a rubberband around them to make sure it would work as a precaution. But I have had serpent starter boxes, ofna etc. Its my fav. The serpent was smaller, but had to rebuild it. and the ofna was powerful with the gel cell but I felt it was to big/ heavy.

and I can say sam at kamikaze is a good resource.

Yes I love this Box, it never let me down. I also use the Ofna box the Blue one with the 775 motors but that is for my offroad MBX6-T also a great box.

Is that the same starter box that won't start your car when we are at Crystal Park racing?

Most starterboxes are made for stickpacks. LiPo batteries can be purchsed in the same fitting stickpack.
The only direct fit is the Mugen box, in the kit of the car there is even an adapter for the box.
But all starterboxes made for 1/8 onroad cars can be made to fit the MRX4. I am using an old gray Serpent starterbox, I only changed the motors to some TeamOrion 23 turns Havok motors, they can stand the forces and are more powerfull than the standard motors.

What is to tell about it?
- Serpent #1400G startbox
- swapped standard motors to TO Havok 23 turns (any other will work)
- 2x Robitronic 3000mAh NiMh packs
- narrowed the rubber starting wheel to fit the MRX better
- modified the Setpent brackets to fit a mugen (only bushings on the screws with longer screws is needed)

Easy as that.
