Sorry, quick question. What's the diameter of 1/8 scale tires? Do they need to be trued, or can you run them out of the box?

The 7mm split is important to have steering otherwise just true for purpose like quali`s and finals regarding timelapse.

Where I run I like using 67 mm for the front and 74 mm for the rear.

Question, I have a 2013/2014 model I believe. I’ve seen set up sheet that show spur gears are 45/49. Newer models show 55/59 on the newer models.

Why such a huge difference between model year?

Any my issues with my 2013 running 55/59?

Thank you.

The older has modul-1 teeth (bigger) The newer has modul 0.8 teeth (smaller). There is no reason to switch to the smaller teeth unless you can not get the bigger ones anymore.

I wanted to ask, is anyone running the Chassis Balancing weights PN# 309840? If so, do you find they may interfere with the Throttle Servo body at all?

And where is the best place for weights to help balance the car? I have a 2013.

Thanks.

The weights I was asking about were on the new 2018 car as it is slotted for them. I know on our 2013 it is not slotted, but we have run the brass lipo tray and front brass insert.

The yellow clutch shoe from the xray nt1 lasted me a very long time with awsome cluth. very consistant and fast accelerating. Consistant because the clutchgap stays the same without much wear. No need for any run in whatsoever.

now i have the Serpent 977, been doing first what the guys told me and had problems. changed to my baking method and lost the clutch problems. All smiles again.

Worth a try and keep it secret so you gain an advantage
i use hard springs though

have fun.
200C degrees or Fahrenheit?

Sup fellas I just grabbed my first rx8 nitro but I don’t plan on using it for track racing, just parking lot bashing. Has anyone used a standard clutch setup on these instead of the centax clutch? I know centax is great for racing but I’m just bashing with it. It’s just a matter of getting the flywheel to align for starter box & gears to align/mesh correctly right? Appreciate any help

I am not sure you can use anything else, It not hard to setup. You just have to make sure there is not too much gap between the clutch bell and the clutch.

Are there any Clutch springs than the ones that are in the stock RX8.2 kit?

It means the flyweights on the clutch are oriented in the “reverse” direction. This arrangement allows the clutch to engage at at a slightly lower rpm.

With the old clutch the fly weight will move forward over the pin while moving out due the centrifugal forces. Because it will not be in a straight line the movement will have some friction making the clutch less smooth and loosing force.

With the reverse clutch the position of the fly weight will stay put on the pin and will only rotate. No friction so much smoother. And because the movement is in a straight line on the rotation it will create maximum force to keep the clutch tight. With that you can engage on a higer rpm range and still have no slip.
