HaHa!!! Don't say that, every car has 4 wheels,....... it has good plastic quality.
Hope Hudy makes this car with some up to date feature such as floating radio plate,..... then i can see if it can put into the mrx4.
it's been many years to "perfect" that!!!!!!
sounds very familiar when nt1 was launched. "spent 2 years to,..........." a proven chassis.

i can almost assure, you will not make mistake.

With RX8 I did not want to make the same mistake and moreover I had already 30 years of experience with 1/8 on-road cars platform and clearly knew what we could not do and what we needed to do."

Could be, since the MRX4 and Kyosho is a proven platform in composite materials. Cannot wait to see the real thing.
i am very intested to see what different designs he has.

Here is another quote from Juraj, which, when thinking a bit more about it, makes kinda doubt his entire column:

With this no-compromise approach we find ourselves at the end with 32 moulds needed for the RX8 project! This is a crazy amount of moulds, believe me!
Even if Hudy has his injection molds made in a sweatshop somewhere, I doubt that he'll get one for less than 2000. And knowing prices for molds I highly doubt that the are that cheap.

That would make it a total of 64,000, just for the plastic part molds.
My guess would be that this number will rather be in the 150,000 region.

I know for a fact from a car manufacturer that they are calculating with roughly 1500 sold 8th scale cars a year.

Do the math yourself.....

I work as an engineer in an international Coorporation and our main buisines is casting of plastic parts. 32 moulds only for the composite parts??? Where is the rest of the car? This is nonsense! One mould like the one in the presentation would on the European market normaly cost about 15.000euro and if he gets them for 10.000euro each, that means 320.000euro of investment!

As stefan said 1500 cars per year!? That means Xray will be bankrupt soon

Chers

I guess we will know tomorrow.

But I can't imagine that he can afford to go outside of the current price range for 1/8 cars too far.
The NT1 is also right with the competitors.

Remember that you can probably use the same plastic mold to make several parts at the same time...

All those parts were made with 1 mold...

Back in the early days of Xray there was a pamphlet that showed a lot of their production process and equipment. It looked like they did a lot of their mold making in house.

That might be, but it still cost a lot of money to make 32 injection molds....
