Ok If I were to choose between the new mega engine line up and Novarossi linup of engines there is no question in my mind which company will get my money. Every well know racing engine company has had or has tides with novarossi so they are obviously doing something right

Novarossi wins I will just continue to support them by purchasing their engines

Don't forget to thank Mega when they force NovaRossi to drop their prices.

from my understanding Novarossi, Novamega, and Sirio are all rossi based engines. All three companies founders are father and sons, but since the father died each of the three sons runs a different engine. one produces novarossi, another produces novamega, and the third produces sirio.

Sirio engines are not Novarossi based.
That's why their parts aren't interchangeable.
I thought the owner of Sirio wasn't of any relations to the Rossi family that makes engines.
I heard that Rossi is a common last name in Italy.

Guys the only Nova Rossi based engines are the following

Nova Rossi (obviously!)
Rex
Top
RB (made by Nova Rossi to RB's specs)
JP (see above)
Mugen

I may have missed a brand name but Picco, Sirio and Nova Rossi are different manufacturers.

PSI Racing is correct in saying Andrea Rossi (owner of Sirio) is nothing to do with Mario Rossi, and yes the Rossi name is a very common name in Italy

FW05R Mario is still alive and kicking, Nova Rossi was started by his father I believe.

I heard that Picco engines are fast, but don't last long.
Does anyone have any experience with Picco based engines?

I've run Picco engines in the past, and yes they can be fast, but they don't hold that performance for very long.

The other issue I had was with the carbs, Picco plastic carbs were like an on off switch lots of power or nothing, regardless of what needle you ran. They did make an ali carb and this was much smoother and settings stayed more consistant. I truley believe a racing engine needs a metal carb, the plastic carbs never seem to be manufactured the same each time.

If Serpent manage to bring the engine prices down and get more people into gas racing then great they'll have done well............But I hope this doesn't mean that the quality of the engines deteriotates to the point where you need a new engine every race meeting.

I am sorry for the wrong info. I was told Andrea and Mario were brothers. Again, I apologize for stating incorrect info. I will agree on the carbs on Picco based engines. They are a pos. But with a different carb, a Picco engine can and does run very strong. I am very pleased with the performance with mine.

I have had success with the G1 .21, all the other Picco engines I have had were rubbish.

Only Novarossi and Rossi motor are father and son companies.
Novamega is Nova Rossi based engines and Sirio is different manufacturers (own by Andrea Rossi).

I thought Rossi engines was owned by the 2 brothers and after a fall out one went off and started Novarossi (New Rossi Motors).

I don't know why novarossi is starting to get picky about other companies modifying their engines like JP
