I have 2 of each and drive them both (MTX and 710) regularly.

Both have pluses and minuses. They are both easy to set-up but the 710 together with its set-up book and more set-up options is therefore to me a superior car. However you'll only want more set-up options if you do a race series that involves racing at different tracks.

As for hop-ups, they both could do with some, more so for the MTX which is why Mugen has officially launched the Prospec ... a really hopped-up MTX3. Serpent is beginning to release more and more options too.

my vote goes for the mtx-3, mostly for its durability. you can slam it off curbs and it will keep going. saw a guy with 710 get hit in the back kinda hard but not too hard and his a-arm broke. I think the plastic used by serpent is far too brittle.

Thinking bout getting a MTX3..
I used to race a serpent but the car was a pain to setup. I race offroad and want to play with some on road. I just dont want to get something which breaks all the time and want something reliable with minor work needed to set the car up.

Is the MTX3 a good option for this? What would be a good solution, I dont think getting a RTR tc3 or otehr car would be good enough...what do you think?

Also what pipe and what engine...

Is it a pain to get the wheels with a 2mm offset or are they usually available.

Well he asked which one was better and IMO I prefer the s710 over the MTX-3 but if it was s710 between the FW05R I would go with the Kyosho

I am sure 710 is an awesome car but I heard that 710 is fragile just like TC3, is that true? any 710 owner breaks a lot of parts?
