Default Xray NT1 WC

I've heard that the factory shipped them out to the dealers, but I have yet to find a dealer that even lists that they are getting them. Anyone know what the price is going to be on these?

Wow, that's insanity for a touring car. I might as well go back to 1/8 scale at that price.

If you look at the parts they give you in the WC kit vs the parts in the 2010 spec kit and price the parts as if you purchase them separately, it's actually a good deal for $670.

Nt1 2010 Spec Kit $475
Graphite Upper Holder for Bumper $18
Downstop Independent Alu Front Anti-roll Bar $52
2-speed Shaft - Lightweight $21
Front Middle Shaft - Lightweight $12
Alu Wheel Hubs $22
Lightweight Diff Outdrive Adapter - Short $15
Lightweight Diff Outdrive Adapter - Long $15
Alu Hardcoated Diff Pins $6
Graphite Battery Plate $18
Alu Radio Plate Mounts (L+R) $32
Brass Engine Mount (I can only find a 3rd party version of this part)
Ventilated Brake Disc $20
Lightweight Brake Disk Adapter $18
Lightweight Carrier For 2-speed Gear $26
Lightweight Drive Flange $28
Alu Brake Post Arm $15
XCA High-dynamic Clutch Set $79
Lighweight Clutchbell $32
Lightweight Flywheel $19

All together that totals $923 if purchased separately. That's a ton higher than $670 they are asking for the WC kit.

It's like with any car, look at my Kyosho V-One RRR WC Team Edition. Basic car was priced around $480 too but when you add the lightweight flywheel, lightweight clutch bell, lightweight first gear housing, Titanium 2 speed shaft, 3racing ventilated disk brake, Kyosho APP pad set, one piece engine mount, aluminum hubs and small parts it does get to be up near the $700 mark before any engine or electronics.

right, but if you buy them seperatly, you have also all the stock parts For a comparison, substract the price of the stock parts.

It doesn't work that way. You either buy the 2010 kit and add these parts later as you go, or you get them all together with the WC kit. You can't buy a basic kit with no parts and add what you want. So you spend $900 to have this car built from the basic kit or you get the new WC kit with this stuff already. That is assuming you want all this stuff. Some of it is nice like the titanium shaft and lightweight parts but the brass engine mount and graphite bumper and radio tray I could really care less about.

The point was, if you had to buy all this stuff yourself to set the car up the way it comes in the new WC kit, it would be a lot more money. Like I said, you cannot buy a car with no parts.

With today's economic climate, the rising costs of onroad kits is the reason why this class is losing members in its community. Granted, $670 may be a steal if you bought the base kit and then upgraded it later, but when you are close to living paycheck to paycheck or don't know if you will be working tomorrow, it is hard for the average racing Joe to justify paying almost seven bills for a rolling kit. This is why offroad is steadily growing because you are looking at around $300 for everything you need to get a Slash/Blitz/SC10 going for racing or $600 for a top-quality offroad electric buggy/truck, a decent brushless system, a decent LiPo charger, and a couple of low-end LiPo packs that will keep you in the hunt. Even Losi was smart to give you a RTR nitro 8ight/8ight T package for the about the same price (8ight T, the buggy RTR is cheaper), just add batteries and fuel. The innovations are cool, but what use are they if it leads to no one to race against because you priced most of you audience out of the picture?
