Jeff Z and myself ran the new clutch spring at the nats and both fell in love. We are set up at .5mm and .5mm. We didn't mess around with the preload or gap because of the limited practice time we had with the new spring. My clutch shoe has never looked so good!

I want to thank Drew and the team for all the support at the nats. Jeff's car was in sad shape before the start of the final but with the support from the team we got it ready to go in time.

So whats the scoop on cutting up the radio tray? I think most of the fast guys had theirs cut up at the nats. I did not cut mine up yet. Wouldn't making the slots in the rear of the tray bigger do the same thing? Also what about this new chassis atleast one guy had?

Can I ask, did you have the flyweights in a leading (most clockwise hole on pivot pin) or trailing (most counter-clockwise hole on pivot pin) orientation?

Cutting the radio tray works well in low-grip situations and the Nationals wasn't the case of having low grip.

I can't recall seeing Mike, Paul or Ralph's car running their car with their radio tray cut. But I could be mistaken.

Mikes was.

I dont know about the nats being low or high grip, its all relative, The grip to me most of the time felt "fair-good"

It seems to add some more steering to the car as far as i can tell, it lets the cars front end flex a little more and may add more steering.

Mine is Cut, and I Cut it at the Nats.

I dont think making the slots in the rear larger would change much if anything.

Why not? The whole idea is to let the radio tray flex further or more and opening the holes in the rear larger would do the same thing wouldn't it? Explain yourself.

I will have to get back to you on that. I'm pretty sure it's the clockwise hole though.

I dont think its further.

I think the idea is to let it flex more easy.

My try is pretty lose, I dont think it hits the limits of the stops.

Anyways the front is pretty locked down when it comes to the radio tray, cutting it makes it less "Locked"

Thats my idea on it, your going to have to try it see if you even notice it, I would say its a small change.

Looking at my motor on the carb side, in the car it rotates CCW.

My weights are set to so the leading eadge is on the pin.
