Yes they are carbon, and they are really strong Ralph took a pretty hard hit on the left front and it didn't break.

Thanks Drew

Whoa baby! I'm digging the tires and pipe!

So is Ralph switching from Capricorn tires or just testing?

Hey guys, I can't speak for Drew but from what I saw this past weekend. The new tires and rims are NICE! I wouldn't hesitate once they are in stock!

Drew, how do you measure caster on the NT-1? I see on the set up sheets that it ranges from 10 to 11.9. Do you use something to get that number that is on the setup sheets?

Ronnie

It is automatically calculated from when you set the caster clips in the setup sheet.

Ralph and I thought they worked really good. It was a good test because we have so used to that track. The tires are very strong. Not sure on the weight but I am pretty sure they are close to the other carbon wheels on the market. They seem to make the car easier to drive, we think they make more tracion.

I don't really measure it. We just use the clips. The setup sets it up when use choose where the clips go.

Thanks Drew

Its actually easy if you have the hudy setup station or similar (best with more accurate camber gauge like digital) But you do a 40 sweep. Basically you measure the camber turning left 20 on say the right front tire. Then measure the camber turning right 20 on the same tire. The difference is then multiplied by 1.5 to give you the caster angle (the constant changes as the swept angle changes so I think a 15 sweep has a constant of 2). So turning right the camber is something like -5 degrees, and left its +2, the difference being 7. So 7*1.5= 10.5 Caster.

Actually measuring this is not needed for setup of this car, its more important in cars like oval or cars with geometry that is different left and right or pan cars with turnbuckle type front ends like the old Evolution 10's etc. Simply noting on the setup sheet is sufficient, and it does the math for you

Cool, I look forward to when the rain stops again so I can get some time with all the new SRC goodies.
