Thanks for the pic video Victor. Man, the cars look really cool in those rain shots!!! Now, I really hate that I had to miss your race. The shots with the hail falling in the foreground/background while the cars were running were amazing!! I know the hail part surprised a lot of you guys but the racers kept going. Don't the 8th scale Lola cars and 200mm touring cars wish that they can slap on some rain tires and just keep chugging. Congrats to all of those that got a chance to run in this race. Hope to see many of you in May (Texas Biggie), October (Ipanema US GT Nationals), and December (Carribean Cup in Puerto Rico).

One more thing, those Warrior bodies looked cool in the rain!!! Loved some of the colors schemes that were being sported on many of the Warriors. It made them really stand out in the rain shots.

I guess the lower the shore the better, but this is a guess since I only race onroad never drag.

You can get them here:

A lot of things add up when trying to pick the best possible tire shore for any specific performance application. Since you're asking about "Drag" racing here are a few things to consider:

Actual race track length, are you expecting to cover a distance of say 200' or less straight-line or is it more of a "Top-Speed" type of "Drag" run?

During short straight blasts, our softer shores of 35 & 40 new wide rears would give much greater "hole-shots" than standard width or harder shore slicks, at the same time softer rubbers will wear a little quicker; its the same reality as in real 1:1 drag slicks.

Now if you're "dragstrip" length is over 200' and "top-end" or "trap speed" may play a greater role on victory, a slightly harder 45 or higher shore will help with less rolling resistance to help produce more mph.

I have a friend here in Tampa that has run our 50 & 55 shore slicks at 119+ mph. Their running surface, I believe is around 400' long and the harder shores more than make up for it in "trap speeds".

You'll also want to consider running a slightly harder shore front tire to help reduce rolling resistance and to add some more steering stability on the top end of the run.

Thank you, hope it helps!

Racing in the rain and HAIL?! Sounds like a blast. Many congrats to all the winners. I certainly will try hard to join the madness next year. And again, many congrats to Victor and crew for providing a great facility.
It's true that we ran Novarossi in both classes, but we run the SPEC class with XFusion engine 21/3 and de Open class we run with another engine fromXFusion engine 28/8 (in the open class was a modified engine by Hotmod(Jim Hottinger), this one has an incredible torque in low,mid and high rpm.

Hope to see you in Puerto Rico next year !

Great short clip of the race. It really make me wish that I hadn't had to miss the race. Hopefully I can make it down there to race with Victor and the group someday soon.
