Capricorn Tyres
Hi all
Could anyone tell me the difference between the capricorn tyre hard light wheel & the capricorn Humid hard light wheel.
Also where is the best place to get them in the states or is it better
to order from them direct.
Thanks Daz

The humid tire is especially for damp tracks, it's a very soft tire (20-25 shore) which only works in a very small window.
If it is too wet you will only spin out, if it is too dry you wear them out within 10 laps.
So I never use these kind of tires, a normal electro slick tire is much better in these circumstances.
The Capricorn Hardlight tire is just a normal tire, but with a stiffer and lighter rim compared to normal tires.
It's very good, you will notice a big improvement in fast direction changes, the car responds faster and just grips.
I only order from Capricorn directly because their service is top notch, shipping is very fast.
In the US Capricorn is being distributed by Team Epic:

Maybe someone from the US can chime in on any resellers in the US.

Hi Daz,
RC America is stocking the Capricorn tires here in the US. We have several of the sedan compounds now, and we should have the out of stock shores back in shortly. You can give us a call and talk to Ralph if you have any questions about tire selection or suggestions.

Jazza if you are after a stiff rimmed tyre and can't get the capricorns, or the capricorns are dearer, try the GQ tyres. the new multispoke white rim is super stiff. I don't know if the are as stiff as the capricorns but they are very very stiff and strong. I haven't raced for about 1 year, but the GQ's and the yellow rimed Kawaharas were always my favourite tyres. I used to use the GQ's on high traction tracks and the kawaharras on low traction (softer rim, gave more traction).
if you live in Australia Kelletts hobbies brings them in. Hard rims are the bomb on a super grippy track.

Thinking of joining the Moorebank club, you're old club
Currently we only race at IMCC, will see what happens.
