ya know for once to my amazement I'm actually not suprised. It would appear Ralph and Josh became pretty tight after the winternats last year. When Josh bailed most of us locals figured Ralph was going to follow suit after he split from Serpent.

You're probably right about them winning again but you're even more right by saying "coz all the good driver is with them".

I don't want to sound negative but maybe they feel their cars need all the best driving to win? Maybe they make a lot of profits from all of us enough to spend big bucks on expensive and large numbers of pro drivers? Or maybe, even more sinister, get all the best drivers away from all the other manufacturers and stand a big chance of winning?

Whatever ... as some people say in the 1:1 scale racing world: "Win on a Sunday, Sell on the Monday!".

;)

True and I think we're saying the same thing really.

Then they get all of us to be their drivers too, only difference is that we have to pay our own way!

Sometimes though I call into question a couple of things related to this: for example, at what point is the IFMAR worlds a professional sport and at what point is it a hobby or amatuer sport?

I also question Kyosho's apparent "two-pronged" strategy. The CEO reportedly made a statement something to the effect of Kyosho is in the business of letting people enjoy and have fun in the RC hobby at the last Kyosho closed world cup in Dubai. Yet here, they're throwing serious money around ... probably putting not only other manufacturers out of contention but also those poor racers who pay their own way to go to the Worlds.

Just some thought ...

I'm glad to see Kyosho spending the big $$ to get the best drivers so through their R&D they can deliver the best product possible.

wonder who will be next

Yep......Can't wait for HUDY to follow......

Raul Garcia 06-24-2004 04:26 AM

Step up to the plate!

I think it is about time for one of the major suppliers of products to the hobby and sport to catch up with the rest of the RACING scene. I congatulate Josh, Ralph, and whomever may follow suit. They will definitely be driving some of the finest R/C cars around. Hopefully, Kyosho and the ridiculous Great Planes will take notice, and pollute the US market with more of their race machines, and available parts at the LHS! Come on Kyosho get with the program.... Time will tell. :tire:
