Default Hudy Set Tool and Temp Gun

Hi Guys,

I just got my Serpent 710 yesterday... still waiting for my radio equipment so I can start building and a few other stuff before I get to run my car..

Anyways, I was wondering if I really need a Hudy Set up (1/10 Touring) complete kit.. Is it worth buying it, do I really need it? Do I also need a Temp gun? I am currently trying to decide which one:

Powerline Carlsen Temp Gun
or
Raytek MT2 temp gun
or
Raytek MT4 temp gun

Looking forward to your input and any reviews about the products mentioned.

Thanks,

Titan

Personally, Hudy set up station is not worth the money you wouls spend on it. Even the Serpent guys here say its overpriced crap. Invest in the cheaper Integy or Team Titan set up station instead. They are made from alloy and the guide lines dont wear off making it impossible to read what the actual set up is.

Dont necessarily need a temp gun. I have managed without one for 16yrs. All they do is give you a guideline to the setting but they are far from accurate in any way.

Really, any of the starter boxes are all decent. I would just recommend hooking it up to a 12v Gel Cell instead of the 7.2v electric car packs. Less hassle and no need to keep recharging the starter batteries all day long. Not to mention a lot less expensive to keep charged. I never seen the point of having the 7.2v packs when you still need a 12v battery to charge them anyway. Just adds to the amount of gear you have to haul.

Just look at what is in your desired price range. The Ofna or Team Magic starter boxes are great value for money.

After going through 3 starterboxes, I've fianally settled on the Ofna 1/10th and 1/8th #10258 box($75.00), it has the big motor and and a 12 volt I picked up at Batteries Plus for $15.00, and it will start anything.
