Kyosho Inferno GT2

Kyosho Inferno GT2
I'm looking to pick up a on road car to just mess around with in parking lots. I used to have a 4tec 2.5 and 3.3 and I really missed the torque and sound of a big block when I was running the 4tecs. So I figured my next car would have to be a big block car.
Is the kyosho inferno gt2 a very decent car for what I have in mind. I just want something that's reliable, dependable, has good bottom end because I like drifting and won't break the bank.
Is this the car for me?

The GT, GT2 best bang for the buck, well the the 1st version GT wount break the bank, you can get these new for like $340-$350, the GT2's in the $400's.
These come with .28 motors and on a non prepped track or street you'll drift alright. I have the 1st GT with all the hop ups the GT2 has and then some, it sits on a 1/8 scale buggy platform where the GT2 uses a larger Truggy length chassis. You swap gears from both versions. I like the original GT, it's shorter and I believe that should help on a track, for you wanting to drift should good to go. If you want the hop up version ( higher gearing, larger fuel tank, adjustable turn buckles, larger chasis) go for the GT2, cost you a little more, can't go wrong with either one, it's a blast to run/race these cars.

Picking up my Inferno GT2 Mclaren this wednesday. Just to smash around the parking lots. Not really looking to race on an organized course. You know, your usual weekend fun...
BTW, will be replacing the motor with a tuned GRP .28 motor.
The stock motor is fast, but I just want a little bit more

I bought that motor this past Christmas and have been doing whatever I can, to the orignal engine, to give me the reason to put in new engine. Problem is, short of setting the thing on fire with gasoline and a blow-torch the orignal motor won't quit. Oh well dead engine or not, I'm putting on the new GRP engine come summer. I have parking lot bragging rights to uphold.

Hi Jspeed, thanks. Just came back from Vegas and back to NC this weekend. Hope to get a new motor on the gt2 to get her going again. I took a spill and damage two tires. Gonna go and get your tires for this track next week.
