ahh cant decide.. iv had experience with every shock besides serpent.

the shimo ones also seem nice.. it also has a screw on bottom cap compared to the old RRR shocks which was held on by a e-clip.

plus kyosho has also been well known for silky smooth shocks.. and valvet coated.

might go kyosho since i have heaps of kyosho springs, bladders, spare parts sitting around.

i was looking into serpent, and i need the 5.8mm balls for the linkages, and they only sell them in packets of 20 for $25.. i just want 4 balls! can i use any 5.8mm balls or they must be serpent?

hey mate i dunno about kyosho shocks as i have never used them but i have had a mtx4r and now a serpent 733. they serpent 733 are the easiest shocks to build, fill them up, set the rebound and done. i think i did mine in about 3-5min for 4 of them. also no gay bladders to screw with easy as

ahhh i might give serpent shocks ago..

what do i need to mount them?

looking at the instructions, they have 2 different balls parts (1649 for lower ball joint & 1650 for upper).. but they look like the same part? just one comes with those little rods.

serpent shocks are very good quality, especially the new rccx with the new
x-rings. Never had a problem with leaks or rebound. However, have
in mind to buy extra foam inserts (#903175), because these foams do not last
for ever. And when they are gone you cant set rebound (foams tend
to become smaller and as an effect you cant push the rod in, like the shock
is overfilled)

Every second rebuild i also change the foams.

Have you ever tried a Shepherd shock? Best shock ever made for RC cars in my opinion. Easy to rebuild but rarely need to be as the things will work fine until every last drop of oil has seeped out of them (which doesn't happen anyway).
