Wink Replacing a .21 NovaMega EV4 conrod ?

Hi guys,I'm a newbie to your site and think its the 'biz'. Back to the question, 1. How much play should their be on the bottom end of a con rod and how do I check it, should it be a 'snug fit' (bought the engine 2nd hand so not to sure of the history). If it needs replacing do I have to take the liner out to get the 'rod off ? 2 When I've got the engine in 'bit's' what should I be looking for in the way of wear on the crank and how to check it also ? Is their any thing I should be extra careful about when I'm putting it back together as I've only taken a damaged one apart before or should be left to the 'pros' . Cheers Gordon

if your in any dout of the engines history i would change the conrod as a matter of corse, for the sake of 15-20 dollars, coz if it goes it will cost you a lot more than that.
i check the big end pin on the crank with digital calipers, check for slight flat spots.
with the crank in place, check for any up n down movement, if theres excessive movement the bearings are on the way out
