2-300 dollars for everything or just the motor? If it is everything than these posts are futile. Wait save money and buy the right stuff.

If it is just for the motor than you are ok. As for why not pull start. Look around 1/10 200mm touring car results and that will answer your questions.

Let us know if that is your complete budget.

I just noticed your age....If your parents are going to help then fine. if you are doing this on your own budget look at a NTC3 RTR kit.....has everything.

Im helping my parents out for my birthday. They are leaving for their hunymoon and will be gone on my birthday so they are getting me somthing big. And im an only child.

I was thinking 200 for the car and a motor on ebay. They are cheap. Hey is this one good???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...902194800&rd=1

And then a tuned pipe and some gas and im off.
And a starter box, some tools and a glow plug.

But a car without a motor on ebay is only like $150 - $220
andd this motor will probably go for like $60 and tuned pipes are like What?? $40-60

Well tell me if thats a good motor.
I have to leave at 11:55 today Thursday.

That is the factory team kit. That wont go for less than $200.00. You need a larger budget to race. Have spent almost $2000.00 dollars already this year setting myself up from scratch properly.

Post your complete budget. The original will barely afford 2 good servos.

this is the motor you would need but your budget does not provide nearly enough to do this right, sorry....

save up.

i agree with jrabito, buy the rtr kit, the engine you get is ok, you have a choice of side or rear exhaust (and when you blow that engine up then you can get a better engine because you will know more about the car/engine), pretty sure comes with 2speed transmission, threaded shocks, because if you buy the car($200), then the engine($100 plus), you still have forgot the most important thing, transmitter and reciever and servos($100plus), don't buy an engine on ebay, a car is fine but not an engine, so if you go buy everything seperate before you know it you have dropped quite a few dollars in something that you thought would only take $200, just my .02, BUY THE RTR KIT

Dude, you need at least $600.00 for the set up you want, although I think you would be better with a RTR. If you dont know what a glow ignitor does you arent ready for a full blown race car yet. Take it slow & learn, save some cash & when the RTR is trashed get the right car for racing.

Yea i have been looking around the internet for a while and it would be out of my budget to do that. I am just going to try to get the RTR kit. BUT should i get pull start? or no pull start.

And what is the difference beween rear and side exaust???????

Well after you guys answer those here is my next big question?
Where can i get an RTR kit. You guys know of anywhere i can get it at an affordable price??? And if it is side or rear exaust will be up to what you guys say.

Well let me know

Thank you

Richy

i can still race with a pull start and side exaust right???

i think i will look for an rtr pull start. more easy to learn with probably and then i will lask the people at the track and maby learn off them and see how they do things.

I have 2 questions still :

1 what is so good about rear exaust???????

2 Where can i get a cheap rtr kit.
maby like $200-$290.

and then later on when i get a job ( in a few months ) i can upgrade to rear exaust and some better parts. but first i have to buy some gas and a bottle for the gas. Do i need a glow plug starter and starter box or can i just pull start it.

Hey what is this gold thing???

is this the thing to ajust the idole???

The gold thing is the top end needle, VERY IMPORTANT!!!. You can race with a pullstart, side exhaust, you just wont be as fast as a rear exhaust. Rear exhaust engines make more power. Stick with the RTR. Try ebay you can usually pick them up at a good price. Yes you need an ignitor to start any engine.
