It's funny how it is called GT worlds if it is not even sanctioned by IFMAR and how it is called GT Nationals if it is not even sanctioned by ROAR

Some local at Silver Bowl Doesn't like the way its handled. He's also The Prez of region 12 ROAR. Only a few races done at Silver Bowl, like Ron Paris Memorial.

Loosing track in LA, cuz of City Ordinance. Sun Valley & Crystal Park. I see why SV closed, cuz it was never open during the week. CP!! It being on Casino property, Question on adding rest rooms. Revelation, made a choice on track, On-Road & Off-Road. They had both. City Ordinance, had to choose either one. They chose off-Road. SV was the largest track, cuz they held 5th scale racing. It was used as 5th scale Championships. CP was used for Sedan National Championship, The Debut of the Serpent 733 in '04-'05 season. Silver Bowl just waiting to be nominated by ROAR to sponser another race. SB rumor were to relocate the off -road track, its just a rumor. Its like the Super Bowl changing location each year.

News of on-road track in Whittier. Parking lot racing. Do not know how their schedule is. being parking lot.

You can run on the track pretty much anytime you want to for free. If you want to "reserve" the track or put anything onto the track then you have to pay a fee.

WHy do I have to pay a fee if I want to clean and spray the track? Last time, somebody(rich taylor?) swept all the dirt from the sides of the track to the middle of the track. If we wanted to spray our own traction compound, we had to pay a fee. Keep in mind that the track wasnt being used by anybody else. Why is there a fee if the track doesnt belong to any individual? If the track belongs to the city, shouldnt it be free to use? Afterall we all pay taxes, so the track belongs to all the citizens of LV.

You don't have to pay to sweep the track, but I believe you have to pay to spray the track. I bet you already know this, but the county has contracted out to operate the track. The track is owned by the county, but it still costs money to keep the track operable. The pipes dont get replaced by themself, the painting doesn't happen by itself. The county contracted Rich to operate the track and that is how the money gets raised to do those things. I'm not defending this course of action, just telling you in case you didn't know.

I have the few written guidelines Rich sent to me a few months ago when I had some questions if you want, I can email them to you.

I can appreciate that maintenance of the track costs money, but the stupid part is that instead of running the track like most permanent tracks are run, where the track is open at all times for a practice fee ($10-$15), the track is closed. Not to mention that those of us that want to have the track available would be willing to help with the upkeep, we donít just want to go and trash the track, that would be stupid, we want to help make it better. Why not make the track available to the public, throughout the year instead of only on the 2 day races?

Its killing on-road in the region, for someone that is a ROAR Region 12 coordinator(not for long I hope) and wants to run for ROAR president(hope not) he doesnít seem to be promoting RC racing, he is stifling it. The Silverbowl is the only permanent on-road gas track left in the area (Cali, NV), instead of promoting the track he's turning people away.

Allow people to run on it in an organized way, it doesnít cost Rich Taylor any money if I want to buy my own VHT and spray the track with it, so whatís the problem?

Come one Mr. Taylor, you're out there, answer some of my questions.

At the last Motonica Race our Region 12 Director (Rich Taylor) said he was running for Roar President at the time he asked by Rich Brown what he was going to due to promote RC , his response was he was going to turn Roar back to the members let them help make choice, well that is not true for the track (Silver Bowl) that he manages. It is not being used. Nevada RC Club is the only one at this time wanting to use it, but for some reason our Region 12 Director/ track operator/ want to be Roar President is making it difficult for this to happen. Now being that he is, and want to become all the above you would think that he wants to promote the On Road in his Region, well his actions are speaking for them self's.

At the same Race there was a banner up on back straight promoting (Harmony RC Club) again he was asked by BT who Harmony was? And his answer was I do not know all I know is that they sent me a check for up coming race. lol. Now you and I know why would you book a race not know who you are dealing with? Again being that or I think why start off Harmony with a lie?
If you are operating Silver Bowl track as business how do you intend to make any money if you are not promoting or duing any races or practice?
If you are not operating Silver Bowl as a business then in all honesty why are you doing it?

The Roar elections our coming up soon, as Rich Taylor says he want new blood, most of you the read this and Race I am sure you are Roar members its time to change some things but having Rich in any part of Roar leadership is not the answer, you have power of vote please due it this year.

Rich Taylor you intend to be part of Roar now that you are track operator its time to step up to the plate or as you have said you will be on the out side looking in.

Region 12 Election coming up. Well!! Since Taylor did his term of volenteer work. Safe to say good bye. Better to elect someone at NoCal, or Fairfeild(Sacremento) that has a premenant track, and someone to get hold of everyday. ROAr being a Non-Profit Organization, we need someone to take control for the on-road guys!!

Location, location of track. City ordinance, Noise, EPA, etc, some things take place on a permanent track. SB!! Glad I don't live in the Apt/Condo next to it!!! Just looking at SB, upkeep should be better!! Just my opinion!!!

So for short Rich Taylor is a MORON, then who in the right mind will vote for him if he runs for ROAR President?

For lack of a better word... Yes, he is.

I was at the Motonica race too, and when Rich Brown asked Rich Taylor how he was going to promote on-road racing, all Rich Taylor could do is avoid the question and change the subject.

I also heard rumors of Mr.Taylor being elected in a dubious manner, something like voting for himself more than once. There is also a rumor that he and some of his cronies were involved in getting Crystal Park closed down. This man is a cancer for Region 12 on-road gas racing, he not only needs to be kicked out of ROAR, but he also needs to be kicked out of the LV scene. Somebody that cares about our hobby of choice needs to be put in charge of the Silverbowl, the track needs to be saved.

So for now we will travel to LA for Club racing. Wow part of that sounds crazy. We have Region 12 Director here in Vegas who is track operator but yet most of us are traveling once a month to LA for a club race. Nothing against LA, Glen and them put on good racing. Its sad that we run up against so many walls just to have any club racing or even a practice here in Vegas.

I leave here in the Las Vegas area. I have not been in this hobby that long. About 2 Ĺ years, I started running Traxxas truck ware I slowly met some racers who introduce me to Mugen Sieki truggy and buggy racing. Like Iím sure 99% of us start. So soon I started racing with my buggy MBX5. Ware I found myself loving to run my car. Being and off road vehicle it gets hard to drive and go out and pick it up, so I would even take my wife and she pick it up to get me more practice. During the summer days itís too hot for me to ask my wife for help so I got on the GT Class from there the MRX. I enjoy myself learning new driving skills, which makes you a better driver all around. But I have gotten to know the gang and all this guys are great. Just like the off-road guys did help me in every way they could couch me to race. Pretty much all last summer I was running my on road cars. I also added the 1/10 scale sedan MTX4.
The biggest thing I can think of. Everyone that races will help a fellow racer this to me was a great thing because I could used all the help I can get. They encourage others to come out.
I can only state what I have seen from Mr. Tayler. He does NOT promote racing, if he did he would have the track open charge a fee for allowing people to run on his track show proper racing standard. That would promote ROAR. Iím not saying when some new rookie (like I was once) comes out and wants to pay to run on his track I wouldnít discourage him by telling him there are added cost if you want to run, that would be ROAR membership. Trust me people if he enjoys it as much as I do he will be coach into becoming a ROAR Member. Iím not saying allow him to race with-out Roar Membership. Just during practice time. Because I know for a fact that Mr. Tayler has NOT allowed anyone who is not Roar Member to even get on his track, and I say his track because the Great Clark County that we have here has handed this mad man the full control of it and not set regulations to him. I have emailed the county to see some kind of schedule of times where I can view it by means of the internet. NO SUCH THING EXCIST.
I have personally been one running on the track again, track is very dusty and Tayler has blown the back strait away right into the center of the track. Lucky for me it was windy that day so I think it just kept going. I confronted him he said he was doing maintenance. CLARK COUNTY WHERE IS THE SCHEDUEL to view so we donít get in his way. I thought as long as we didnít prep it, as long as we didnít add VHT or sugar water we could run on it freely. I guess thatís not the case. Just last weekend he was at the track BLOWING THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRACK for what Mr. Tayler. Perhaps to get the nicely prep track dusty for those of us wanting to practice on. Well THANK YOU but NO THANK YOU. One day you will have nothing to control and manipulate others with.
Something else to add, the small group of the On-Road-Racer we actually travel, roughly 270 miles one way driving ones a month just to race in CAL with Greater L.A R/C Racing Club. Because thatís how much Mr. Tayler promotes racing. Thatís so sad that we have here in the valley great track and we have to travel to have Club racing. I personally thank the Greater L.A R/C Racing Club for allowing me to run with them. I just hope Mr. Tayler is not thinking of how he can close that track down too.

I don't know which thread is better, let's see, The GT Nationals or the latest "Vegas" thread, great reading.

Quick note, I have been racing at the SilverBowl since 1989, make the twice yearly trip out from the RAMS, great times (for the most part). I still chuckle about Harmony Racing. So fitting.
