  • Yes sir, I would have bought it if I would have known... I've got a new Cross Flow head on one of my cars too. Pretty nice piece of aluminum work! Let me know if you find any 4 stroke parts you'd want to sell!

I personally think the FW03 is more of a "racing" chassis layout, however the FW04 has a bit more adjustment capabilities. Both are great handling cars.

Mika; your 4-Stroke Spada is a work of art, dude. -Do you still have it? I think I read you may have sold it. Either way, it's an incredible conversion you did.

    Later guys, j
Thanks for pointing that out. Whether a 3 or a 4, one with a 4-stroke engine is rare. With all this talk, may dust mine off for some parking lot bashing next year.

Yes now I remember, he was Nolan Farmer who made those like a set of 100 pieces. He had a very cool 4 stroke custom built F1 and he also made bikes which the head was specifically made for. It also fit the Spada well.

You can google for him, here's also something link
  • Guys, have those gpm foam tires on my super. If I run the foam off can I replace it with 1/8 front foams just by cutting to the right width after glueing. For sure I need to prepare the wheel first somehow assuming it is flat, not ribbed. What you think?

Good luck and I hope that it works out. Where are you getting the foam donuts from to make the tires?

Ebay has some, a bit pricey but better than nothing. Well I'm not like buying right now.
  • Hi Mika, yes you can. I have done it before a couple of times. I got used 1/8 wheels from our local track racers, peeled the old foam off, glued onto rim and trimmed and trued. Tyres didn't last long but had a good choice of compounds!! Got too hard in the end so went out and bought the entire shop stock of fw04 GPM foam wheel sets and worked out better for me.

I still can't find any local suppliers with stock here. I think they are completely gone now.

  • Good evening, guys!

Here's what I did for the wheels / foam tires on my "dream" FW03-

My pink wheels are made by Kyosho / Team Power. They come without foams. I called Team BSR Racing, who mfg some if the best carpet foam/wheel combos, and asked them if I could send my rims and have foam tires made for them.

$50 and a week later, I had one sweet set of wheels w' foams!

Team BSR is located in Fairfield, Ohio.

    Hope this helps, -j

  • Thanks Dave, Juan, Jon & others, good information!
  • Apparently the wheel hex has been shaved to 12mm and wheels drilled for 6mm axle, wheel dia is about 50mm. It says "Team" on the wheel. Anyone knows what these are? World GT ? Fit very well to the car.

  • Those are the same Kyosho/Team Power wheels that I have.
"Team Power" was an optional brand made by Kyosho. They made sizes of wheels for the SuperTen & PureTen. Team Power also made shocks, pinions, etc.

  • Ok, thanks Jon! Wonder why the hex is different ? Is that for fw-03 size hex wheels ?
  • Maybe really stupid thoughts.. but how about using 1/10 world GT/pan car tires ?

Could this clamp fit the 6mm wheel axles?

And the use the front tires with a collet to make the axle from 6mm to 8mm ? Obviously cannot run this setup as 4wd, but 2wd.

Or.. maybe use the rears in front too, but maybe too wide.

You are correct, Mika; the Team Power wheels only came in the 12mm size hex type, so they only fit the FW03 & PureTen type cars.
-The FW04 was the only car that used the 14mm larger-style hex.
It's cool you've got a set modified for the FW04's larger hex!
