Close. In IFMAR "tree" they take the top 2 from the 1/2A and top 2 from the 1/2B to the 1/1 final. To make up the 6 bumps it almost always it works out to be the top 3 from each side but there have been a few rare times I have seen it be 4 from one side of the tree and 2 from the other. It stuck in my mind because there was much controversy (sound familiar) about it because people didn't understand when it happened. I think the last time I observed this was when we were at the 1/5 WC in California.

For accuracy, I looked it up and verified:

Look at the illustration of the tree in section "2.9 Finals".

All I did was say that Hara was driving a mugen, not a Proceed. How is that starting trouble?

Anyways, I couldnt care less what you think of me. From now on Ill post only about the WC, and only with rational people.

You're right. I remember now. IIRC its the top 2 from each semi, and then the fastest 2 from either semi. So if 4th from the even is faster than 3rd from the odd the fastest 2 will move on. Im pretty sure thats the way it was explained to me, I might be wrong though.

I hope it makes sence.

Top 2 from each semi are guaranteed to advance to the final then the next two fastest. So it is possible to get 4 drivers from one side of the bracket.
