If you read German, you might wanna check this blog for another view of things: www.nitro-west.de

There is a lot of good information from an actual journalist
Interesting, pretty much the same observation as redrc did.

On the topic odf Saucing

After we have a winner come Monday do we buy their tire brand because the manufactures says their brand gives the most grip and least tire wear and they won WC or do we just continue buying the brand we know and just get the sauce.

So we have a so called controversy of saucegate. Yet no one has identified the type of sauce used and allocations. The rule book is vague and language going forward should be tighten to avoid this in the future. But so far the ONLY person who offered and reasonable solution was Josh Cyrul. He offered to make available tire additive for every racer. That would have been a cheaper solution for the privateer instead of now the need to true tires in a controlled environment new from a box and wait to put them on the car just before qualifying. Bad call on IFMAR's part. You wait until someone misses a qualifier because they can't get their tires mounted in time or the impound group loses them.

Hats off to Josh for the reasonable offer. Good luck to all the US drivers - Swauger, Burch, Cyrul top three prediction-in no particular order.

Ehm, with this solution the main question is if this will work on all brands tires or can it give more improvement on brand X and is it not noticeable on brand Y ?
I think that option is only a fair choice if they are all on a controled tire.
In my opinion tire additives do not belong in gas 1/8 and 1/10 scale. Over here in europe it is always not done and we do let it to the tires.

Well that explains his facebook comment...

Maybe, but then IFMAR right from the start said there was to be no tyre doping, the way many will see it is they had a duty to make sure the event played out that way, as a ruling body they 'need' to make the hard choices.

Reality, looking at what some are saying, the Europeans would have gone home pissed had it been allowed, Yanks fume over it for who knows how long with the current result?.

Now that one round of qualifying is through on definately clean tires, what has changed?

Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we follow the logic a few people have offered here, than we need to look at the guys that are not as fast as they haven been..........

Only one US driver in the top ten?

Hara blows my mind. Going from driving his car for a few laps back home (no experience with the car, or that style of driving for that matter), to fighting it out with the top guys at the WC race. natural wheel is all i got to say
