Default Seriously weird radio!?!

Hi there!

When I were at my local track last time (15 minutes ago :P) the radio system got pretty weird, at first it looked like someone were driving my car (had my frequency), but after a while it stopped steering by itself and started acting normally so I decided to take it out for at test lap. When I tried to start the engine then, it fired up, but then the servos gone mad and that way made the engine die (no cold engine likes to go from 0 % to 100% throttle in a matter of 0.1 seconds). As soon the engine stopped the radio gear acted normally again.. I've checked so the antenna wire doesn't vibrate against any carbon fiber or metal and the steering servo is brand new.. I've also got plenty of battery power left in the reciver battery..
Is it possible that my reciver crystal is "smashed" or something? I have no other crystal sets so I can't test..
Maybe I should say that I also have a GWS Fail-Safe unit between the receiver and the throttle servo..

Does anyone know anything that could help? As you can guess this is pretty annoying since I wanna drive as soon as possible..

Thanx!

Simon

Not exactly the same case, but my radio cannot work properly when I am 6'-0" away from the car, within 6'-0" it is all perfect.

Found out...not my crytsal, not my radio, not anything....but the MODULE...

Cost me $50 to get a new one.........but since then, I get myself a new radio case so NO MORE accident happen to the module.

If your radio does not have removable module, then ignore what I said

Both are fully charged, but an uncharged RX battery wouldn't cause "madness" only with the engine on? Since it´s a nitro engine it causes vibrations..

This was the first time..

I am not there so I cant say for certain .. but it certainly sounds like a bad reciever ... if it is ok until the engine starts and the vibrations start then it really sounds like a bad connection in the reciever ... try this ... I dont know if you bump start the car or pull start it ... but if you bump start ... set the car on the box and without fuel in it and without the glow igniter on it .. spin over the motor ... see if the radio goes nuts ... if it does then I would really look at a new radio setup ... if it doesnt ... try swapping the radio into a friends car and see ( on the bump box or held up in the air so nothing gets damaged ) if it does the same things ... if it does .. its new radio time ... get something good .. that has EPA adjustments and such it will help you in the long run ... if it doesnt .. go over your car ... there is something amiss .. a bad servo can cause it ... a rattling metal to metal connection .. a bad gear diff I have seen cause some strange radio issues ... it could be anything if the radio acts fine in another car ... hope this helps ...

have fun racing

Well thanks for the bad news (my wallet is eemptyyy)..
So you don't think it could be the crystal?

I use a starter box, the same thing happens even without glow igniter.. Will test it in a friend's car later..

It can't have swapped crystals in sleep between to two laps so it can't be whynot's theory..

The crystals are pushed in, I'll try without the fail-safe later..

But I must say thank you guys even tough it's bad news
