Don't use nitro clean or WD40 on bearings, it will remove the grease from the bearings which is very importent.

Use proper bearing grease, not ARO or WD40 or Nitro clean.

There is some point you need to clean inside the bearings and re-lube them again.

Serpent premium lubricants are good too because it's not too thin.

I wish I have ultra sonic cleaner

What kind of liquid do you use with ultra sonic cleaner ?

Cold parts cleaner, parts washer fluid from an autoparts store. Do not use the carb cleaner. They sell it in one gallon buckets it is not a spray. The jewlery cleaners are like 15 bucks at walmart, target etc. the Indy sparkle is on www.integy.com.

Default need more top end..

hey guys
i was at our track today and i feel that the mrx-4 needs more top end..
it was peaking out rpm at 3/4 down the straight.. i even tried adjusting the 2 speed to shift later.

the bottom end was fine..wats a good gear combination i can use to get more revs in the top end?

im using a os vz-r version 2 engine..could it be the engine maxing out rpm?

thanks
john

26T front side pulley. Don't bother with the aluminum pulleys unless it's the small one on the inner front layshaft. I have one for a one-way if you really must have one. Cheap......

Just stick with the stock plastic stuff.

What pipe are you running with it? I know this motor isn't much of a beast on top end, but for the small to medium sized tracks is pretty decent. Infact, how big is your track? I'd step upto the Mega ZX21 '06 version if you want something inexpensive, but will hang with the other motors. I saw that most racers aren't too far off from the stock gear ratio on the MRX4 and or just change from the 17T pinion on first gear to the 16T.

Hi
thanks..im using a novarossi pipe its a 2015 with 3 fin header.
the track has 19 corners and 1 long straght with a sweeper at the end. im thinking of getting the vzr modified to increase the top end. it was cheap to start with..

im trying to find a piston liner for my m-rossi rex pr350 that should have heaps of power to get around.
