I can't see how the internal gears are being mashed with thick oil. The last set of internal diff gears I replaced have lasted about 12 months, or more actually.

I do use mine as race car though so I don't go doing dohnuts etc, thats a sure way to give your diffs a hard time.

Me either. Welp, I do have quite an itching to try the Rody in the CD3 pro. Seems pretty interesting so I may just give it a try. The MT12 runs pretty decent, but I said heck why not give it a whirl?

Check play in your drive cup mine had lots of play there. Sadly have to say the car is not a racer, But has tons of top quality parts(pro version). This car is the perfacte basher around the parking lot.

It's Ofna's Racer. may not be with the top cars (Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent), but after the R40, G4, AE it's around there. I did pretty well with the car at my track and feel with another test (now that the Rody is in there) it will do great. I just liked how it ran and wanted to give it a try. My R40 runs great, but still gotta spend another $100+ to get the car lighter as wanted to be. The less weight will help it be a bit more responsive. For now the CD3 is a test and a part time basher. Soon Ill be running the MRX4.

Just thought I'd give this thread a boost with some track testing shots the past wednesday.

I really like the way the car runs and the fact that since there aren't really much more upgrades for it, that controls my spending habit. I still don't get that whirring noise it makes like an electric car. Otherwise, the car runs really great and it's got endless punch, which I do love.

Default where to get a one way?

Hi all

Anyone willing to point me as to where I could possibly get a one way diff for the CD3 Pro? Can't seem to find where. I'm in New Zealand and parts support for this car here is non-existent. Pretty disappointing as this car would have been great. Will the FW-05RR one way fit the CD3 perhaps? Any help would be good. Thanks.

hi guys i have had a cd3 pro for a while now and am trying to give the boys i race with mugens a hard time but i am strugling with the car, dont get me wrong i am pretty close to the others but i just seem to be fighting with it, main prob is the back seems too loose, could someone give me advise for setup on short carpark racing, and also ive been having probs chewing out the 12 tooth cog in the diff centre about 3 times now and always on the side in the diff case not the bevel gear side.

Whats your current setup?
When is the rear stepping out?

re: diff, you are putting the shims in behind the gears? I think I got around 12 months out of mine, actually I think its longer. Maybe 100k oil helps.

stepping out- when accelerating out of corners it wants to spin around,

setup-
tyres f/r 40/40
sway bar f/r hard/none
trac f&r 199 mm
caster 1mm
springs f/r gold/red
toe f/r +1.5/-2.5
dif oil rear 30k
front 1 way
shock oil f/r 600
shock piston 2 holes
shock tower f/r 1/1
lower arm f/r 2/2

and i have been shimming up behind the gears, with 1x 3mm shimm behind the spider gears then test fit and found too much freeplay and added extra shims evenly to find the point where the gears would move freely without freeplay.
