Dear Martinez, considering the exchange rate (1 euro = $ 1.45) t = 0.689.
$ 10.50 contact tires price USA. 10.50 x 0.689 = 7.23 euros.
The price due to the exchange rate is higher in U.S.A.
In Italy the price is 6.50 euros.

I thought that Contact Tires produced in the U.S.A .... if the price is higher because the product is imported .... ok. They are 0.72 Euros = $ 1.0449 on more.

Contact, however, good tires.

I came here to +1 the congrats to Paul L. for the wins this weekend and saw this post.

You here a bunch of complaints from racers about the price of RC products (not just tires) without understanding the real reason we USA drivers are paying so much. I hope more good information gets out like the exchange rates below. It really has nothing to do with companies trying to get rich, our dollar just isn't holding much weight these days.

Contact Tyres are made in England, where they use the pound

Do the math for today: euro=1.44US....gbp=1.64US, so for every dollar spent made in Italy brands like Matrix, Capricorn, Ennetti, SRC, etc gain $.20 on average. At $10.00 that's a $2.00 disadvantage for Contact.

Maybe this helps you understand.

We thank all of the racers supporting a great product, enjoy!

As they say "If you are running Contact Tyres, see you in the Fast Lane!!"

Default Good Racing!

With the Nationals just a few days away. We want to wish all our fellow racers and our supporters a good fun time.

Paul will be there to defend his title in sedan, DJ Apolaro, Rafael Angulo, Richey Siriano, Jason Conley and Many others will be shooting to stake their claim in one of the two classes if not both

So, good racing everyone and see you in few days. I will arrive on Tuesday.

Kevin

Questions??

The www.kevcoracing.com site has been down for a day now. Is this because of nationals or is there a new site to buy tires from?

i just purchased an order of carbon rimmed contact tyres fom the schumacher rc UK website. It's the first time i have used carbon rims (previously GQ hard white plastic rims) these things are rock stiff can't wait to hit the track with them, i'm sure the hard rim will give great steering response.

regarding the foam, it feels a lot like the foam that the Kawahara rims used to have. very small celled foam, with a very "grippy" feel to it when i pass my finger over the surface of a trued set of foamies.

If you are a racer who races on a track with boards, or you find you warp rims often, give the carbon rims a go...if you warp one of these rims then you might need to look at improving your driving

Been >2 months since my complaint of splitting tires, and I haven't seen few tires off a new batch I was promised.

Advice?

Default Two Peat

Contact Tyres takes 1st and 2nd in sedan at 2011 Nationals.
Congrats to
DJ Apolaro for his 1st National Sedan Championship win!!
This also gives Contact Tyres back to back championships! 2010 and 2011

Paul Lexuiex took 2nd almost repeating his win from last year.

We had three in the 1/8 final, DJ, Paul and Rafael Angulo and two in the Masters final David Larry and Jim Rice.
We didn't get a podium, but congrats just as well!

Also as always we appreciate all of our supporters. See you at the next race!
