Default HPI Racer 2 - Found another dinosaur in a closet

Built this car when the Racer 2 first hit the shelves, I was into aluminum parts back then obviously, lol. It has never seen gas or a road, it has a brand new Picco motor (well from that era) was pushing well over 1 hp which was the thing back then lol. I really miss this hobby.....

My first kit was a NRS4-2, I just recently picked up a racer 2, I've got plenty of spares now. Mines got an old OS 15 CV, cranks right up on the first pull. I ended up giving it to my gf so she has a car to run w/ me.

What are you plans for this car? you gonna run it?

Unfortunatly, like my MTX2, it will never see gas...Im just going to hold on to them, they will make nice shelf pieces. I want to get back into racing, so im gonna get me a newer car to run.

Ahhh, memories.

Here is my HPI RS4 (original, not racer), with the first ever Novarossi .12 engine (pullstart).

Gotta love the Kyosho "induction" filter

My friend had that engine! It was $139.00 from sav-on hobbies (without pullstart)

My nitro RS4-2 had the wolfpack radicals big-block conversion kit. I had a picco P21KSR turbo stuffed in it
