Default futaba s9551 low profile

Hi to everyone, i was changing termnals on my lipo regulator when someone distract me, and when i plug the regulator with a battery that i had there i started on fire, well the thing is that my lipo regulator is burned, so got a question, could this futaba s9551 low profile handle the 7.4v of a lipo, and also do you know if the receiver from the airtronics mx11 receiver could handle 7.4v also, or is it better to replace the lipo regulator?

what do you suggest?

thanx

I wouldn't run the risk, it's impossible to test or judge if they can handle it if it's not stated by the manufacturer.
When you will discover it doesn't work it's too late, because by then your electronics are fried, and the risk to fry $300 worth of equipment I would never take. Plus when this fails it always seems to be when you're doing really good during a race.

Either use a regulator or get a Life if you ask me.

I use the Xceed one, last year I ran the big one and for this year I bought the smaller one.
I think they are the best available at the moment, didn't had a single problem all year.
The new smaller version is great because it's really easy to find a place to mount it.
Sticked mine to the side of the receiver.

I would also replace the regulator asap. My guess is the stuff will last for a while but if/when it fails you will never really know if it was the higher voltage or not. I had used the 9551 for a while now in my RRR sedan for a throttle servo. I also am still using my first Novak 3 amp regulator. I just had to replace the On/Off switch after more than a year of usage. It is small enough that I use the Parma clear double sided tape and tape it to the bottom of the 9551 servo.

SkyRocket racing sells the best at a reasonable price. Mr.T matches all batteries for the best pack resistance. You never have to worry about fires, voltage overload, or battery life. I saw his product performance at the Winter Nats. Tory had power all day without a recharge. Packs should be available for transmitters also.
