New bearings

I changed the bearings in my engine and have had the piston and sleeve pinched do I have to go through the same break in process that the manufacture requirers for a new engine or is there a special method or is it required at all.

When I had mine pinched I wasn't told to do anything outside of normal breaking procedures. The piston and sleave are not new so they already have been heat tempered from previous use. I just put it back on the car ran a few(3) tanks under 200F and have been running that engine for almost 2 years. It is just a stock MT12 though.

I Read your reply after I got back from sunday practise. What I did for break-in was 1 tank static at 200-210f.Then 1 tank on track slow driving 210-220f.Then 1 tank bringing the engine into perfect tune.I was thinking the same thing about the piston and sleeve being heat treated.I wonder if what I did today was alright for new bearings. How long did the pinch last on the piston and sleeve?
