Default Ofnas new rear exhaust 12 line of engines, 3 versions

Somebody posted on the HPI forum about seeing info on a 7 port .12 in RC something or other mag.
So I called Ofna. OMG ! !
They have been running a new rear exhaust 3 port 12 for about a week now.
Now this might be hype, but I was told the 3 port "its like an RB".
"Wait I was asking about a 7 port 12."
"Right but for now we have a 5 port and the 3 port. The 7 port just came in and it hasnt been run yet."

Maybe Ofna is stepping up to the plate in the horsepower arms race.

Cool

Hey Foger Rox

I hope those are FULL RETAIL prices Cause if thats store pricing, they better be 20% faster than any Mod motor out there.

Yeah, list prices.
Street price'll be 20% to 30% less. Just under $200 for the non turbo I'd guess.
Pics are showing up in mags now. They have a black case and plain silver heads.
I've got 10 on pre-order. Well 9, one for me. Maybe I'll send it to Motorman, he he he.

Hey Foger Rox

Do these have head buttons(Turbo, non-Turbo plugs), I would think so to keep the cost down???

Ahhmmmm, I dont know.
I think the Ofna/Picco 3 port is Piccos RR. So what ever those motors used. I looked
at my Picco RC real quick, I couldnt really tell, looks like it has a button.

Foger Rox: From what I have heard, OFNA will be receiving
a 3 port standard plug that is similar to the Trinity RR, a
5 port that is probably identical to the Collari 5 port Turbo,
and a 7 port Turbo, that from what I have heard so far, OFNA
has exclusive rights to....sounds like OFNA is seriously stepping
up to the plate in so far as engine performance is concerned!
I received a Collari 5 port turbo from the importers of the
Collari line to evaluate about a month ago and this is what I
found in addition to what you have heard from "motorman"...
crankshaft intake, transfer, and exhaust timing are in between
what you would find in a typical MT12/RS12/RB12 engine and
what you would call a "full race" engine...(i.e. JP Black or Rody
Roehm .21 engine)...in other words, this was the first production
.12 that I have run across that was semi-seriously modified...
if this holds true for the 7 port turbo, then there is no doubt
that the .12 200mm class will evolve from its "entry level" class
that Serpent and Mugen seem deternined to keep it at......

Yeah the Ofna/Picco 3 port should be a RR. I heard the same.

Yeah but the Collari used mostly Picco Parts, is it truly a Picco Motor?
Let alone w/timing changes, Wooooohah.

Talked to Angel @ Ofna today. He said the 7 port 12's are not in yet.
Also some of the guys test running the 7 port said it out runs the JP.
I tried to pin him down about the intake and exhaust timing, is it stock? But he wouldnt go there.
Next time I'll talk to Dave.

I would hope that it would out run a JP. I have seen Collari 5 ports out run JP's. Now that I think of it I have seen a couple of strong MT12's out run JP's too;-) Unlike their .21's the .12's from JP are highly over rated for the price. Guess you could say that when it comes to the .12's JP's= Just Plain stupid! That's what you have to be to pay $260-$290 for one of these engines!

LOL.
Are you sure those Mt12's were'nt some of Motorman's work? LOL.
I'm not sure if I want to drop a 7 port into my Ob4, or send it to Motorman first, hmmm.
Gotta save some $$ I guess, ya know. Come to think of it I have a fresh big block 15 thats never seen fuel. darn I need a pay raise, LOL.

Actualy the MT-12's were stock. The JP .12's are some of the motors with the best "hype" that I know of.
