2010 HOA SEASON OPENER at KANSAS SPEEDWAY - May 1 & 2
Fastlane Raceway will again host the opening round of the Heart of America Series for 2010. And, as last year, this year's event will be held at Kansas Speedway in conjunction with their IRL / NASCAR Truck weekend on May 1st and 2nd.
Last year's event was a real hit with racers, the Speedway and race fans with the outside of the RC track lined 2 and 3 deep with spectators every time there was on track action. And racing with the Speedway in the background along with the sounds of the full scale cars provided a unique setting.
Once again we expect a track size of approximately 100' x 200' and we'll run the normal HOA classes (1/8 IGT, 1/10 sedan and 1/8 IFMAR nitro classes) as well as 1/10 scale open mod electric if there is interest.
Stay tuned for further details in the coming weeks.

Our club { rcrcnt.com } in dallas texas did this one year on the Texas motor speedway parking lot, was a lot of fun. We ran two qualis and a main and than had a ticket that was part of the race entry fee to go inside and watch the trucks race. It was a Great w/e. Everyone attending your race will have a good time!!!! From the pics it looks very nice .

I’ve attached a Flyer for the Heart of America Series opening round which will be hosted by Fastlane Raceway and held at Kansas Speedway on May 1st & 2nd, the same weekend as the IRL and NASCAR truck races.
Classes will be 1/10 .12 nitro 4wd sedan, 1/8 scale on road Sports Car and 1/8 scale IGT. We will also run electric 4wd TC (rubber tires / open motor) if we get at least 2 entries.
The track will be set up in the souvenir area in front of the track to the south of the main entrance (same area as last year). Parking will also be in the same area as last year approximately 50 yds from the track. Pits will be on the grass adjacent to the track. If you have a race trailer it can be set up in this area but tow vehicles (& motor homes) will need to be parked in the designated parking area. No overnight camping is allowed in this area. You will need to bring your own pit tables and chairs. You will also need a special pass to park in the area designated for R/C racers. Please e-mail your address to [email protected] so we can mail your parking passes in advance wherever possible. We are racing outside the fenced area so a ticket to the IRL / Truck race isn't needed in order to participate in the HOA race or watch the HOA races.
There will be a guard on duty in our pit area Saturday night so anyone who wants to leave their pit trailer / pit equipment on site should be able to do so with confidence.
Track should be ready for practice by 8:00AM on both Saturday and Sunday. Because of the schedule for the “big” cars, we will run all 4 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. Please see the flyers for the provisional schedule. We may adjust these times as needed due. Personal transponders are required.
With it being a race weekend we weren’t able to get a discount established at any of the nearby hotels and most of those very near the track are sold out. However, there are lots of hotel rooms in the Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO area which should still be available.
See ya at the races......

Big thanks to Chuck, Arlynn, and the Fastlane crew for putting on another great event. Weather worked out good for us---I understand the truck race had rain and hail. We all forget how much work goes into a temporary track.
Congratulations to the winners.
Great to see everyone and get the season under way.
Thanks guys.

Thanks again to Big Chuck, Arlynn, Scott and Shane (along with Jim Hulse and I'm sure someone I'm forgetting!) for all the hard work - some of which continues today!
This was an excellent, well run event that had us done in time to go to the truck race!!!!!!!!!! Can it get any better than that???
At any rate, the results are at:
