How much space is there between the back of the flywheel and the motor? If there is more than just a hair, try a different collet that will allow the flywheel to get closer.

or add some(to make 0.7mm need 0.5mm) 3x5mm shim to the end of thrustbearing spacer for extend it.

I had to file down the back of the collet to get the flywheel as close to the engine bearing as possible without it rubbing.

This also helped me line up the first and second gears better left to right.

How do you measure it?
you can only measure it with a marking gauge!
Because with a clutch tool you touch the 1st gear.
And try to flip 2nd gear, because then the 1ste gear can fit better.

And i have used
Serpent 710/720/733/960/966 Conus Flywheel (3) [SER-6503], this fit better in the flywheel.

good luck

use the right serpent collar you will not have any problems , as you should be able to get .70 gap easily.

the only problem with grinding the wider part / the one that faces the bearing is you have to be dead straight otherwise it will put uneven load on the clutch system hence premature failure of the bearing .
