I'll be arriving on Wednesday. Paul Becattini is bringing a wireless adapter that I can use to post information from the track, so no need to wait until nighttime. Postings will be done on SGrid Online, the SGrid Backtalk Onroad Forum, Rctech, Twitter, and Youtube.

Anyone who wants the brief Twitter updates should "follow @StartingGridRC". I'm still learning how to use Twitter, but I'll give it a try.

Photos posted on Rctech will open the usual way.

To see the photos on Starting Grid, the easiest way is to sign up by clicking on the Backtalk banner at the top of www.sgrid.com and sending me a message giving your login name, so I can validate it. (Backtalk forum accounts are still free - just say you're a racer to qualify.)

Photos will probably be uploaded as galleries, including large-size images.

I'm also bringing a video camera, so I can upload videos to my Youtube account, http://www.youtube.com/startinggridmagazine

Default Backtalk forum access for GLC coverage

I should have added this to my last post.

If anyone wants a Backtalk forum account at Starting Grid, please try to let me know before Tuesday. Even if you ask later, I can probably set everything up, but it will be easier to do it before I leave for Toledo.

The forum accounts don't expire when (or if) the free sign-up offer runs out.

Hello Brian B, this is Billy Bowerman from SpeedWorld. I know the race will not be on liverc, but if it's not because of equipment please let me know. I can bring 3 cameras, lap top and most of the equipment to set up for you guys, I just can not bring the wire for the cameras because they are permently attached to my track for weekly club race on liverc.

If I can help I will.
Billy

I still do not have someone to share a room with. If anyone is interested please PM me. Some of you may know me as the tall guy that helped work on the 301 track. Thanks Mike Keely

Billy,

Wow that would be nice. However we run JLap Race Management software, not RC Scoring Pro. I thought that was the required software. We also do not have an internet connection at the track. I would love to have said yes, but I think we have little time left to make this happen. With work and other misc stuff going on for this race, just not enough time.

But that is a very generous offer and thank you for that! Look forward to seeing you in a couple days! Have a safe flight.

Brian

GLC Racers,

I would like to thank all those thank those that will be attending the 2010 Great Lakes Challenge (GLC) this coming weekend. I wish you all safe travels and look forward to seeing you all in a couple days.

The One Eighth Racers of Toledo are looking forward to hosting this event in its 12th annual! Weather outlook looks great with upper 70's to lower 80's all week and weekend with no rain. The weather was very similar to that of the Nationals last year which was about the same week.

For those that have permanent pit spaces reserved, attached are the layouts where you will be sitting. We have had numerous requests for locations and this appears to be the best solution for the majority. We ask that DO NOT move the tags to situated your area as there probably reasons names where placed where they were. We only have a small handful of open spots and those will not be used unless paid for with an entry.

North pit area is to the right of the driverstand and the South end is to the left of the driverstand.

Chairs will be provided 1 per pit space.

I will be arriving on Thursday afternoon, that will be about the time we will open registration and have everyone check in. Please make sure to have your ROAR membership cards with valid dates through the event. Membership forms will be available at the track if not current.

The track will be sprayed on Tuesday (depending on weather) afternoon. The track will be open for practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Once the attendance pickup, we will break the practice into controlled practice per class (8th, 10th, and GT).

Friday we will have practice in the morning till 11:30am. A drivers meeting will follow and then the first round will be starting around noon. We will complete 2 rounds Friday. Saturday we will have 3 rounds of qualifying starting at 9am. We may run some of the lower mains on Saturday evening depending on time. With the remaining mains running on Sunday.

Hope to see everyone in a couple days and have a safe travel trip!

Brian Berry
