Thanks, trying to help as much as possible.

Currently I'm busy collecting as much as setups as possible so I can start a setup database on dsmotorsport.nl

Within a couple of days I will post a setup template which everyone can fill out using Word or Pages. If they are complete I will add them to my website.

Hereby a little report about the last round of Dutch nationals we had last weekend.

The race took place at the Rucphen track, were we had the EC-B earlier this year, so everyone knew the track very well and had a good setup for it.
On saturday the weather was ok and the track had a good amount of grip.

On sunday the weather was changing all the time, one moment it was raining and very cold and the next there were clear skies and sunny.
Qualifying took place on a drying track which was quite tricky, we qualified in the following order:

1 Daan Jacobs
2 Maxim Claes Capricorn fuel
3 Daan Stuiver Everything Capricorn
4 Ingeborg Gommers Capricorn car

Before the main final it looked like the track was going to be dry and most drivers were putting their dry setup back into the car. Everyone started the warm up with regular foam tires.
I thought it was going to rain again so I opted for a 50/50 setup which should work in both situations. 30 seconds for the start the skies opened up again and it was raining heavily. One driver asked for a delay so everyone had time to change to rain tires. Luckily I had a very good pit crew which were able to change the car to an almost complete rain setup.
From the first lap I was dominating the race by going 2-3 seconds a lap quicker then anyone else, at the end I won the race with a 6 lap advantage compared to second place!.
This was my first victory in the NK (Pro) class so this was very special for me.

1 Daan Stuiver Capricorn
2 Peter Berkhout Serpent
3 Arco de Jong Capricorn

The overall event and championship was very successful for Capricorn.

Congrats on the victory Daan!

I just had to come back here and say that after the immense frustration when building the C01, partially due to the manual and partially due to my lack of knowledge at the time, the car is just on another level in terms of overall quality compared to my Velox and my NT1.
I really had to come back and say this now that I have much more experience and I can see the devil in the details.
I am actually looking to buy another one now for my younger brother or for me to keep and have two and give him the NT1 instead

Does anyone know if Capricorn is preparing a 2012 version or should I get another Euro Champ edition for xmas?

Thanks Frank!.

Glad you like the car after all, I was really stumped when you said you liked the NT1 and Shepherd better then the Lab-C01.

Yes, I don't use the clips. I glue the bearings into the bulkhead using Loctite 603 Bearingfit. I also do this for the 2-speed drum bearings and 2-speed axle bearings. Greatly enhances the life of the bearings. When you want to remove the bearings you only have to aim a heat gun at them for 5 minutes and they pop out.

Well the V10 is my second favourite car
I love the disk brake on the rear diff. The only disadvantage i see with it is that the front wheels brake via the rear belt and put more stress on it. The only thing i dislike about the V10 is the weird battery shape. Otherwise the engineering on the car is perfect.
I don't like the NT1 so much mainly because the C01 is the same car full of racing upgrades so the NT1 is my collection is a bit redundant. It was more expensive than the V10 too which I can't justify for a car that is all plastic apart from the main chassis.

Daan, you got pm

I'm pretty sure that the new rear bulkheads have the bearings fitted from the inside without any clip. We use the optional magnesium bulkheads which have the bearings pushed in from the inside without the (to me) annoying clips.

Kindest regards,
Lars.

P.s. Many thanks from me and Chance to all of you at the club for the hospitality at our brief visit. We love there and we always wanted to come back and race with you after the NSW Titles.

I just removed the magnesium bulkhead as the amount of slop in the bearing that holds the swaybar was getting worse and worse. i hear there is an updated aluminium bulkhead which has the bearing mounted from inside.

Does capricorn produce the foam for their tires or does another company like GRP make the foam. My caps tires seem to have alot more traction than my SRC's.
