Default SMP Slide questions

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I'm a hobby enthusiast, but I'm pretty much dedicated to helis at this point.

I'd like to know more about my SMP Chrome Slide... It's so gorgeous I've had it on the shelf as a "museum" piece for a while. I just got married so I need to streamline my hobbies, and although I'm pretty much committed to letting it go, I feel I need to know more about it before it's gone.

I bought it at a lhs on consignment; I thought I might get into touring cars at one time. It must have been the original owner's baby as it's all new and never been run as far as I can tell. The belts appear mint, brakes new, and engine too clean to every have been started.

Here's what's under the hood:
O.S. VZ-R v2
THS Racing pipe
JR RS310 Synthesized 75mhz Rx
KO Propo PDS-2143FET Digital servo
KO Propo PDS-2144FET Digital servo
Venom Smart Temp

The body is a GS Racing Storm expertly cut out to fit by the previous owner, but it needs longer posts in order to be pinned.

I'm curious to know what version you think it is, and if there's any interest in them anymore.

I have a bunch more pics in my Picasa gallery:

Thanks!
Jake

There is a guy on here that is looking for slides and parts. He might buy it off of you if you want to sell it.

Why on earth did the previous owner put a buggy body on it?

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check him out.

As for the buggy body... that's a good question!! Maybe he thought it would give him an edge at the track if people thought it was an off-road buggy!

Here's a shot of the underside... ... shiny...

Does the machined lettering look different than others?

For a RC car of that type I'd say that was mint condition. If you really need the cash, I'd say try to sell it on several rc forums. There are lots of guys who are into vintage collection and restoration. If you aren't strapped for cash, I'd say keep it and seek out a vingtage body for it.

Just my opinion

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking at it on the shelf for a while, and I'd like it to go. I'm too tempted to run it, which would probably result in breaking something I can't get parts for
