I have another small problem. The car is simply not getting free when youmove it. The bearings are superb , new belts all round , brake free

Can you give me an advice on how to get the car more free?
Try looking at the belt tension on all the belts for starters and just make sure that your brakes arnt binding either mechanically or through your radio settings.

Let us know what you find.

I was under the impression Edam had stopped dealing with Pursuit as well. But i haven't heard anything from Terry in a long time.

Tabushi:

Didn't you drive an Edam for Pursuit Racing last year before switching to the Team Magic G4RS 09?

Yes, but that was part of a "test drive" from the importer i race for ... i loved the car, but EDAM policies didnt matched the reality of our small southamerican market, so at the end the importer didnt finished the deal.

I need to locate an EDAM dealer, first to buy small parts to put the spirit back to race mode just for fun of it, and to buy new rear end of razor 1/8 as i got mine finished but with old OS1 type of rear end ...

thanks for any info ...

Hi

I have been helping my brother with his Edam Spirit, just wondered if anyone has had issues with the front steering servo holder flexing under the movement of the servo. The servo will jump forward causing the servo horn to rub on the radio tray. A little quick dremel work by Blis at the track and Friday night as it was alot better.

Another issue is the brake arm flexes causing the brakes to come on. Watch this with your radio linkage setup and make sure the brakes aren't on with WOT.

Thanks
Andrew

Some further track time today and we are little by little lowering the lap times everytime out. We are running a Jammin .12 in the clubs Gas Tourers class and seem to lacking the punch off the OS .12TG is it in the clutch setup?

This said my brother is just starting out and i think he will have issues with too much more power at the moment.

Any thought would be appreciated though....

Thanks,
Andrew

Well,
several things can be associated with acceleration. Clutch is certainly one of the more important one's. Other things you might look at is :
tire size
gear ratio's
tuning of the motor/how new the motor might be
suspension set up/ how soft or firm the springs are.
droop settings

All of these things play their own little part of acceleration

Hi

Thank you for your prompt reply, we are running the standard gearing, tires are trued to 60mm front and 62mm rear...

We have been working on the suspension and droop settings, this is in combination with weight of diff oils and the sway bar settings have made the car easier for my brother to drive and lowered his lap times.

Gearing i am not sure about, maybe it's not right for this .70hp engine, but when the clutch engages it just seems to bog down rather then leap the car forward like we are seeing with the OS .12TG powered Mugens etc.

Thanks again
Andrew

You might try one of these. Lower the first gear pinion by a tooth. Another option is to raise the the first gear spur by a tooth. And also you might try to tighten the clutch spring a little bit in order to engage it a bit later so that the motor is in a better power range. Just a few thoughts.
