Memorial Day Weekend.

I've gone the past few years, as it is a fairly close race to us out here in Colorado (anything under 500 miles is close). But the racers are great, prices for hotels are very reasonable and the track is a lot of fun.

The tracks in this area have hosted carpet and off road nationals over the past 2-3 years, so they do have a clue on how to run a big event, not to mention very nice facilities as well.

I gather then that the track is only open Sat/Sunday May 29/30th or can we show-up on Friday the 28th for some track time and testing? Is there a storage facility to leave our equipment down there for a week or so?

Also, is there an ariel of the track we can see.... never been there?

Thank You.
Paulie

Oops...........I did it again.

Really what seems to be the problem?? Did the races last year have any problem running both classes together?

Are you making judgment of our track or on ROAR? If you want to decide where the races are volunteer to be on the committee that chooses where the races are.

Easy there, he is not complaining about the track at all.

There were quite a few people that expressed displeasure at the classes being combined and they were all told basically that it was fine, you didn't have to go to the race. It was all a bad deal. Not the race itself, just the politics behind it.

And I think he meant a problem with the track that was supposed to host the 8th scale Nats last year!!

There was no problem with either track or host club. There were just a few people unhappy with ROAR.

I've stayed there several times. Ok, close to the track and many dinning options close.

Thanks wingracer I just wasn't really clear.

I think all we can do is make the best of the situation with Roar where how the races are ran and held.

Lets keep this thread on the subject of the up coming race.

as for the super 8 its not bad at all they keep the place clean

I can't wait to race at your track, I have been waiting since it was built. The track looks awesome, and I would not complain about any track. Sorry, if I came across that way.

I agree with Wingracer, in the pits at the last nationals I spoke to more people who would rather separate the races. ROAR says the opposite. Oh well that's politics I guess. Hehe.

For example if someone wants to race both classes they are not going to have time to repair a broken car, etc... Basically if you break one of your cars your not going to have it ready before your next race in the other class. I tried racing both classes at the nats, and I had to drop the 8th scale due to lack of time to work on the car properly. That is also a lot more equipment to carry, or ship to a race.

Oh well. I guess I can race sedan nats one year, and the 8th scale nats every other year. I will never race both at the same race again.

Politics is exactly what it is. Whenever you have something like this, there's always going to be a group one way and another group the other way. And it's ROAR's job to choose which way they think is the best.

Everyone you spoke to wants the classes separated. Everyone I've spoken to wants them together. Who's right? There is no right answer. The best you can hope for is a decent compromise.

My problem is with racers who start slamming ROAR without any idea of what ROAR goes through to come up with a solution. Just because your group of racers thinks one way doesn't mean all racers think that way. And if another group is talking to ROAR and your group isn't, guess who ROAR is going to go with.

With all the things going on, both within and outside the hobby, it just isn't possible to come up with the perfect solution.
