Actually the USD has dropped more like 35% against the EURO over the last 3 years. It's having a profound effect on retail. My 2 LHS are planning on discontinuing support for the Xray because of a radical price hike in the last couple months. That sucks for me, because now everything I need will have to be mail-ordered.

Anyway, I'm going to put in an order tonight for a couple more sets and repack them with this heavy-duty, industrial-stregnth vacumn sealer my wife has. With three full sets and the one currently on the car, I should be good-to-go for some time.

Hopefully, by the time those foams are done, I will have "trainned" my T1 to stop hitting boards/pipes/ mini-z's/whatever and I can try those 28s they're coming out with.

BTW: Speaking of Mini-Zs ,have any of you guys ever seen what a Mini-z looks like when a T1 stocker hits it at the end of an 80' straight? Talk about low-earth orbit! Freakin, hilarious!

just wondering do you guys face such problems with GQ tires...

1. tends to chip of at the walls easily when cruising on apexs

2. rims tend to bend or distort easily.

apart from good traction i think these wheels lack in the above areas...

I have not had problems like in number 1, but did have some bending in the center of the wheel. I started using wheel nuts that have a flange on them and this greatly reduced the problem.

Cold Fusion

What traction compound are you using? Alot of the traction additives contain toluene and this will break down the bond between the rubber and the glue.

Default track temperature / shore suggestion?

Just wondering, has anyone seen a chart online that shows suggested shore tire based on track temperature.

I know track surface, material, etc. will make a significant difference here...just looking for a reference point.

thx-

Default how about for any brand?

still in search of some sort of chart that suggests the starting tire shore based on track temperature.

Even if it's not specific to GQ, anything would work for a starting point.

thanx-

Where can I get GQ's in the US? I use to deal with RCTexas but I sent them an email and did not get a reply.

If you are used to dealing with rctexas, why don't you give Lee a call instead of just relying on email.

Competition RC is the GQ importer now in the US.

I guess RC Texas is almost of the GQ deal.
I placed an online order with them last sunday, No conformation no nothing, finally got intouch by phone with them yesterday, they never bothered to check emails for sales so my order just layed there for a week. I don't think I'll purchase from them again. They also said there would be no more GQ after there inventory is gone. I think they still have most shore rating of tires. Just no 37 rear 0 offset.
Anbody with an order pending or would like to call for tires, heres a number,

I have confused myself a little bit. I have been getting these tires from winners circle not rctexas. You can give Lee Muse a call.

1-866-nitrorc

If not you can buy directly from competition rc. I would try and get a large order together if buying from them as the prices goes way down if you buy 50 pairs at a time.

Yeah I have dealt with Lee in the past but he hasn't had GQ's available recently. Seems like he is pushing Twister Tires nowadays. Haven't tried them yet. Any opinions on Twisters?
